METHOD STATEMENT

1.0 MOS for Constructing Gas Trench and Installation of PE gas pipe for Overcrossing EHV Cables

2.0 Preparation Works

a) To brief the workers that is EHV cables below the working area.
b) To prepare necessary materials and equipment closer to the working area.
c) To barricade the storage area.

3.0 Procedure
a) To mark the gas overcrossing location on site.
b) To use excavator to remove the soil from the gas trench location up to 500mm depth.
c) To arrange workers to remove the soil manually up to 800mm.
d) Ensure no exposure of any EHV marker/ concrete/ cables before compacting the soil.
e) To lay a A10 mesh on the soil layer and proceed for cast the slab with concrete.
f) To continuous cast the both side walls on next day.
g) To remove the formwork for the trench wall.
h) Gas contractor to proceed to lay the gas pipe within the trench.
i) Install the Gas pipe support at 1.5m apart along the R.C gas trench
j) Upon completed the gas pipe bracket install the diameter 180mm PE gas pipe.
k) The gas pipe joint will be install 1m away from the high tension underground cable at both end
l) Prepare to test the completed gas pipe, capped the both end point with a 15mm test point at one end point
m) Pump in the compress air to 140 KPA and arrange the RTO to witness the pressure testing
n) Let the pressure stay for 2 hours if no drop in pressure witness by RTO will release the pressure
o) To backfill the gas pipe with sand
p) To cast a thin layer of 50mm concrete for the top slab.
