“Transition to On-site Learning: Tips for Teachers to address Anxieties and Difficulties”
Insights or Realizations (Insights or realizations gained from the facilitator, mentor, or
coach regarding new concepts learned and known concepts that were more understood)

A. A totally new concept

Many aspects of a teacher's job are challenging, especially since the transition to
on-site learning for limited face-to-face learning began. As a result of the changing
situation, some teachers feel emotionally, mentally, and physically drained at the end of a
working day. Excessive paperwork, heavy teaching loads, oversized classes, inadequate
classrooms, new scheduling formats, a lack of resources, fear of viruses, coping with
novelty, and learners' troublesome behavior are the most common factors that cause stress
for teachers in today's shift to on-site learning. Aside from what I previously knew, the
LAC session provided me with extensive and substantial ways to overcome such
challenges. Furthermore, I learned that stress can cause a variety of physical and
psychological symptoms that have a significant impact on our well-being. Lastly, the
discussion of DepEd Memorandum 034 Series of 2022 enlightened me on "The School
Calendar and Activities for the SY 2022-2023".

B. A familiar concept but learned something new

As teachers, we are accustomed to coping with problems or difficulties such

as anxiety and stress as a result of our numerous responsibilities. My stress management
skills expanded after learning the four A’s to manage stress and anxieties, such as Avoid,
Alter, accept, and Adapt. This strategy helped me work productively amidst the demands
and changing situations of our profession.
Lessons Learned (personal experiences of how the strategy apply or not in his/her
class)

A. Easy points (what was easy to learn or apply to learners and why)

A positive and nurturing environment is an essential component of learning. As

a teacher, I am constantly trying to establish a supportive and caring classroom
environment. It is important for me that my students’ learning does not become a burden
but rather a source of comfort for them. Through these learnings on different stress
management strategies, I shared them with my students, which helped them maintain a

healthy physical and mental state while juggling their multiple tasks.

B. Challenging points (what difficult to learn or apply to learners and why)

Almost everyone experiences stress to some extent, and students are certainly
no exception. Stress affects everyone differently and for different reasons. As the demands
and expectations for students learning increase, stress and pressure also highly experience.
This includes peer pressure, heavy learning tasks, financial and personal problems.

Next Course of Action

(what to do next to address challenges encountered)

As a teacher who cares about learners’ well-being, I will strive to provide learning
materials that are not excessive while still maintaining learning competencies. I will allow
them to continue keeping a reflection journal as part of their assessment in order to
understand their feelings and thoughts. In addition, I will also offer my free time for
mentoring, counseling, and advising.
