When students are working together, they can have a more productive and effective learning

experience. Students who engage in meaningful exploration, discovery, and hands-on activities have
better social and interpersonal skills. It is critical that they participate in a variety of collaborative
activities so they can learn from and grow from each other. They also help them develop higher-
order thinking skills as well as self-esteem. Leadership and self-management skills are also
established, which will be critical for their future success in whichever career path they choose.

However, in order to meet students’ needs and produce successful learning outcomes, effective
and varied individual and collaborative activities within a variety of physical learning environments
are imperative.

Throughout classroom observations 1 and 2, I utilized a range of collaborative and individual

activities in which students were encouraged to cooperate. In my CO 1, I employed differentiated
activities such as poem writing, slogan making, poster making, and news casting, where each group
was free to choose the task, they wanted to perform based on their abilities and interests. This allows
them to discover the talents and skills of their classmates. Another group activity was called
"Quescussion", in which each group received a picture to analyze and answer the guide questions.
This prompted them to discover which of the causes of inflation the picture indicates. There were
also individual tasks such as computation, picture analysis, writing a pledge of commitment, and
answering an open-ended question during the discussion.

While in CO 2, I employed some hands-on activities such as creating a concept map using any
learning graphical tools on their phone, playing an interactive offline game, doing editorial
cartooning analysis, and writing a letter.
