    Greetings!

    Our law office is the present counsel for MR. VICTORIANO LAWAS y
    Clarion and MR. PAQUITO LAWAS y Clarion in Criminal Case Nos. RTC-4729
    and RTC 4730, respectively, for Violation of PD 1866, now pending before RTC
    Branch 59, 6th Judicial Region, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

    Both our clients are alleged to enlisted members of the RPMP-RPA-ABB


    which has the ongoing peace agreement with the Republic of the Philippines.
    According to our clients, they are among the one hundred (100) members of the
    RPMP-RPA-ABB who were allowed to carry firearm during the period of the
    peace talk. However, on November 9, 2011, they were apprehended by the
    members of the PNP of San Carlos City for alleged violation of PD 1866.

    On account of the pending Peace Agreement between the government and


    the RPMP-RPA-ABB, the proceedings of the mentioned cases were suspended by
    the Court. Likewise, as per manifestation, we undertook to submit certifications
    by your office pertinent to the membership of our clients with RPMP-RPA-ABB,
    which is among their material defenses.

    On this regard, on behalf of our clients, if such allegation is accurate, we


    would like to request a certification certifying that MR. VICTORIANO LAWAS
    y Clarion and MR. PAQUITO LAWAS y Clarion are profiled as members of
    the RPMP-RPA-ABB. This certification will be submitted to the court, RTC
    Branch 59-San Carlos City, as evidence for their defense.
