Pollution.
Pollution is the introduction of a pollutant into a
natural environment that causes instability,
disorder, damage or discomfort in an ecosystem, in
the physical environment or in a living being. In
general, the consequences of pollution derive
mainly from human activity.
Pollution(Types of pollution)
Atmospheric or environmental pollution. It consists of the release of chemical
substances into the atmosphere that alter its composition. It poses a serious
risk to the health of all living beings.

Water or water pollution. It is due to the presence of debris in the water. The
contamination of seas, rivers and lakes is produced by human activities and is
a source of infections.

Soil contamination. Like the two previous types of pollution, it is due to

human action (waste and garbage thrown on any terrestrial surface).
Pollution(Types of pollution)
Chemical contamination. When the contaminant is a chemical substance that normally
comes from industrial uses.

Radioactive pollution. It derives from the emission of radioactive materials as a result of

accidents in nuclear power plants or deliberate abandonment of radioactive waste.
Enriched uranium is the main contaminant.

Thermal pollution. It arises with the emission of fluids at high temperatures. And it is one
of the causes of climate change.

Noise pollution. Human activity produces a lot of noise, and high decibels in a given
location above their natural levels mark pollution.

Consequences of environmental pollution
Although each of the types of pollution has consequences for the
environment and living beings, in general, some common ones can be
seen. The main one is how environmental pollution is one of the causes
of climate change, mainly through global warming.

On the other hand, all types of pollution, separately or interacting with each
other, are a serious risk to the health of living beings and to the
conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems. In fact, the consequences of
pollution on the ecosystem can be irreparable. In this sense, the exploitation
of natural resources, together with the different polluting emissions,
destroy natural habitats. With this, many animal and plant species see their
natural habitat diminished, if not destroyed, and they must migrate or face
extinction.
