Early Withdrawal from a Program/Course Rules:

The below rules are reflective of most programs/courses. Policy allows for the following:

• Last Day to Withdraw without Academic Penalty: If the withdrawal occurs on or before 20% of the
course duration, no grade for this course is included on the transcript of marks.
• Last Day to Withdraw with WI on Transcript: If the withdrawal occurs after 20%, but before reaching
51% of the duration, a grade of WI for this course is included on the transcript of marks.
• Academic Penalty Dates and related information can be found in Student Self-Service.

NOTE: Weekends are not included in calculation.

Reference Notes:

1. Some programs may have different start times. Default to any information provided by your academic
department.

2. Last Day to Request a Pro-Rated Refund due to withdrawal, termination, change in academic load or
international status. No refunds granted after Friday of the 4th week of the Academic Term. This date is
reflective of most full-time regular programs. For more information, please visit Tuition Policy (nbcc.ca).

3. These dates may vary, depending on the program. In addition, exceptions may apply for Apprenticeship
and Non-Regular program deliveries. Please verify with the Academic Department.
