PROJECT BRIEF
Nestled in the scenic seaside city of Vung Tau, Vietnam, the Movenpick
Hotel and Branded Residences is a remarkable embodiment of luxury
and elegance. The property boasts a total of 400 meticulously designed
hotel rooms and 600 branded residences, each offering panoramic
views of the azure sea and vibrant cityscape.

The hotel features two spectacular swimming pools: a grand pool

elegantly situated atop the podium and a second pool residing amidst a
lush sky garden, offering guests a serene oasis in the heart of the city.
On the 40th floor, a luxurious plunge pool complements the Sky Bar and
Lounge, overlooking the city's breathtaking skyline.

Thoughtful planning ensures that the hotel's executive floors and

prestigious presidential suites are located at the uppermost levels.
Complementing these luxurious spaces, the branded residences also
feature penthouses, carefully placed right below the executive floors of
the hotel, thus offering the same privileged vantage point.

The podium serves as a bustling hub of activities, housing the hotel

lobby that exudes a warm welcome. A state-of-the-art spa and wellness
center provides guests with a serene sanctuary for relaxation and
rejuvenation. The hotel also includes Meeting, Incentive, Conference,
and Exhibition (MICE) facilities to cater to the needs of business
travelers.

The design epitomizes architectural innovation, successfully merging

diverse functionalities into an impressive edifice that is as pleasing to
the eye as it is comfortable for its inhabitants. This project undeniably
sets a new precedent for integrated design in beachfront living.

PROJECT BRIEF
Slated to be a towering testament to the vibrant spirit of Vietnam,
Milestone 101 is a proposed skyscraper designed to integrate
seamlessly with the urban tapestry of Da Nang, a burgeoning city in
central Vietnam. This 101-story behemoth, reaching an awe-inspiring
462 meters, is set to become the tallest edifice in Vietnam, cementing
its place as a landmark in the country's architectural landscape.

The site for Milestone 101 is nestled at the intersection of the newly
planned high-tech industry cluster and the marine and logistics
cluster. This strategic positioning not only ensures the building's
relevance in the city's economic activities but also facilitates unique
synergies and connections, aligning with our design principle of
creating connections.

Milestone 101 is more than just a building; it's an embodiment of a

holistic lifestyle. Its strategic location within Da Nang, combined with
its stunning architecture, will offer residents and visitors alike an
unparalleled living and working experience. The design is expected
to promote wellness and sustainability, accommodating green spaces
and promoting a culture of health and wellbeing, adding to Da Nang's
appeal as a world-class city.

In sum, Milestone 101 is a monument to celebrate Da Nang – its past,

present, and future. It is a testament to the city's indomitable spirit,

industrial city in the South of Vietnam.

This new typology of Residential Development in Industrial Areas aims

to aid the change of identity of the development with the least impact
on its natural direct environment.

A NEW, INTEGRATED TYPOLOGY

Developments in our cities have sought to include non-residential

components for some time, industrial spaces have typically been
missing from the mix because of a stigma that industry is low value,
dirty and noisy.

Innovations around materials such as noise-cancelling and clean

emissions technologies are changing this. There is a growing
acceptance and willingness to live alongside these uses, making cities
functioning, living, interactive spaces. Failure to site industry close to
markets (labour, supply chains and customers) can lead to negative
knock-on effects such as congestion and productivity impacts.

This typology requires functions that support its industrial nature such
as; technological centers, smart living, incubation banks, etc. Such

alongside light industrial
areas in Long Xuyen. THE SITE

The site is located in the undeveloped area of Long Xuyen. Two ring
roads are planned to border the sides of the site. The city road to the
south-east connects to the regional road heading to Ho Chi Minh. The
inner righ road north-west connects to Chau Thanh.

PROJECT BRIEF
The main conception of the project focuses on the Trench "Al
Khandaq", a historic battle that occured in the time of the prophet
PBUH where a trench was dug around Al Madinah to protect the
people from the enemy. Thus the focus of the design was the treatment
of the trench. This was achieved on several levels of material
perception throughout the city and specifically on site. Three levels of
perception were targeted: detection - recognition - realization.

The program of the project includes a Museum "Al Mahka" to tell the
story of the battle, along with exhibitions and cultural venues complex.
Revitalization and rehabilitation of the Seven Mosques Square along
with the Palm Trees Oasis are part of the project along with three
hotels planned on site along with governmental buildings and services
for visitors and pilgrims of the Holy Mosque of the Prophet. As part of
the infrastructure planning of the site by the government a tunnel for
metro line is to be extended from the Prophet's mosque to the Seven
Mosques Square passing through the heart of the mountain.

The course of the trench "Al Khandaq" was generated through a matrix THE TRENCH AND THE MOUNTAIN
of signs that penetrate the city and appear permeated by the fabric
of the present city. Therefore, we study the course of the Trench The relationship between the trnch and the mountain during the battle

towers. Therefore, the mountain is used in this project by creating
platforms ontop of it to detect those major points of the Trench and
IMPACT OF THE TRENCH PATH AT THE CITY LEVEL get an overview of the city itself from above. This is achieved through
two stages.
Around the mounta an environment is created that shows the imaginary
path of the trench and appears in the fabric of the present city in
some instances as signs, and in others as as lighting fixtures, while on THE FIRST STAGE
site it is physically dug to appear in its full glory.
The turning points of the path, which are the main points required to

The path of the trench passes near the mountain Sala' and it is THE SECOND STAGE

the trench and the mountain during the battle. This also helps to The connecting paths which revolve around the use of secondary
