1 PURPOSE
This document describes the different steps for installing the software applications, as well as the IT
hardware components, related to the PAS/PIDS system on a prepared IT environment.
It focuses on the PAS/PIDS system installation for an NMS Server.

2 FIELD OF APPLICATION
This document applies to the IT equipment of PAS/PIDS system for DMRC Phase-III project.

5 NMS SERVER PREPARATION

5.1.1 SQL database preparation

Create an SQL user:
 Launch “SQL Server Management Studio”
 Login, then right click on “Security” folder (tree view), select “New/ Login”
 Set a login name (“elnosql” for instance)
 Check the option “SQL Server authentication”
 Set a password (“Elno_Sql” for instance)
 Uncheck the option “Enforce password policy”
 Validate

Authorize the SQL user for the SQL server:

 Right click on the root item in the tree view (the SQL server), then “Properties”
 Open “Security” tab, and check “SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode”
 Open “Permissions” tab, select the created SQL user in the list, then check all boxes in “Grant”
column (you can use “space” key to check)
 Validate

Bind the database with the SQL user:

 If not open yet, launch “SQL Server Management Studio”
 Right click on “Databases” (under the “root” item in the tree view), then “New Database…”
 Set the database name (“NMS” for instance)
 Set the created SQL user as the Owner
 Validate

6 NMS SERVER INSTALLATION

6.1 NMS Server software installation (start)

Right-click on the NMS-Server installer file > Run as Administrator, in order to launch the NMS Server
Setup Wizard:

1. Click on Next. 3. Click on Next.

2. Click on Next. 4. Click on Next.

5. Click on Install.
6. The installation starts, wait until it is
complete.

6.2 Injector installation (start)

Once the Injector Setup Wizard is launched, proceed as described below:

1. Click on Next. 3. Click on Next.

2. Click on Next. 4. The installation starts, wait until the

extraction is complete.

6.3 Injector configuration

When the extraction of the Injector is complete, the following configuration page appears:

In the first list box, select the “NMS Server” as Local Host Type:

Then click on Define button.

Click on the related Get buttons to indicate the different required paths. By default, set the different
information as shown in the picture above.
Note: the pre-written information may be different from the picture above. In this case, modify
the values as shown in the picture above.

Then click on Ok button to validate.

Fill-in the required fields of this configuration page, using the corresponding information from site.
 Periodicity of the control to detect a new delivery of kits (in minutes) = 1
 Primary FTP server’s IP address = IP address of the related Main Central Server
 FTP User account = FTP User’s name for the related Main Central Server
 User account’s password = FTP User’s password for the related Main Central Server
 Secondary FTP server’s IP address = IP address of the related Redundant Central Server
 FTP User account = FTP User’s name for the related Redundant Central Server
 User account’s password = FTP User’s password for the related Redundant Central Server
 IP address of the NMS server = IP address of this NMS server

Check the checkbox related to the NTP time reference, then click on the associated Define button.
Leave all the other checkboxes unchecked.

6.4 Injector installation (completion)

After validating the Injector configuration, an information page appears:

Click on OK.

A console window appears:

Press any key when requested.

Click on Close button to exit the Injector Setup Wizard.

6.5 NMS Server software installation (completion)

Once the installation of the Injector is complete, the final window of the NMS Server Setup Wizard appears:
Click on Finish to exit the Administration Setup Wizard.

After the installation configure the files “*.properties” in the folders:

- C:\Program Files\ELNO\Administration\Conf\
- C:\Temp:\outiladmin\admin-NMS\

And create database tables:

 Edit the file “hiberbate.properties” located in “C:\Program Files\Elno\NMS Server\conf\”
 Set the value of property “hibernate.hbm2ddl” to “create”, then save the file.
 Launch the NMS Server
 Once the NMS Server is fully launched, stop it.
 Set the value of property “hibernate.hbm2ddl” to “validate”, then save the file.
