ASTRID: Good morning, Dr. Maricielo.

MARICIELO: Good morning, Astrid. How can I help you?

ASTRID: Well, yes, I feel very tired. I have muscle pain in the neck, headaches and muscle
spasms.

MARICIELO: How long have you had these pains?

ASTRID: A few weeks ago, I feel very stressed with the issues of the university and maybe that
could have an influence.

MARICIELO: Apparently yes, you must be in final weeks, how many hours a day do you have
classes?

ASTRID: Some days I have five hours and other days I have six hours of classes.

MARICIELO: Muscle pain in the neck, head, and muscle contractures are very common in
college students.

ASTRID: Yes, I usually stay a few more hours because I have homework and other activities to
do on campus.

MARICIELO: I manage to understand, well I inform you that they are caused by incorrect
postures while sitting in front of the computer. I'm glad you came, if these aches and pains are
not treated in time, they can worsen your health and this can be reflected in your academic
performance.

ASTRID: Doctor, in order to feel better, what habits would you recommend?

MARICIELO: You have to do stretching and muscle relaxation exercises during breaks on your
study days. I'm going to give you some headache pills, you have to take care of your diet for
better academic performance.
