Literature Review and Executive Summary (300 words):

The Smart Energy Management System (SEMS) allows us the monitoring and control electric energy
consumption through a mobile app, manually, and through the internet of things (IoT) devices, and other
connected technologies. This advanced system can help households and businesses to better manage their
energy usage, reduce costs, and improve overall energy efficiency.

The SEMS utilizes a variety of devices for controlling, monitoring, and protecting devices to gather data on
energy consumption. These devices can be placed throughout a building or home, measuring the energy
usage of appliances and devices, as well as overall energy consumption. The data is then transmitted to a
mobile app via the internet, where it can be analyzed and used to make informed decisions about energy
usage.

One of the key benefits of a SEMS is the ability to monitor energy consumption in real time. This allows
households and businesses to quickly identify areas where energy is being wasted, and take steps to reduce
usage. For example, if a SEMS detects that a particular appliance or device is consuming more energy than
it should, the homeowner or business owner can take steps to fix or replace the device.

Another key benefit of a SEMS is the ability to control energy consumption. This can be done through a
mobile app, and manually allowing users to easily switch appliances and devices on or off, or adjust settings
to reduce energy usage or shift to another energy meter. This is particularly useful for businesses and
households with multiple locations, as it allows energy usage to be managed remotely, without the need to
physically visit each location.

The SEMS can also be integrated with other smart home technologies, such as smart thermostats and
lighting systems, allowing for more comprehensive energy management. For example, a SEMS can be used
to automatically adjust the temperature of a home or office based on occupancy or weather conditions,
reducing energy usage and costs. Additionally, with the help of SEMS, we can fix the on or off time of our
Connected electric load and can perform load management.

Finally, a SEMS can also be used to take advantage of time-of-use pricing, a pricing structure where the cost
of energy varies depending on the time of day it is consumed. For example, if energy is more expensive
during peak hours, a SEMS can be used to automatically shift three phase energy meter to a single-phase
energy meter during those times, helping to save money on electricity bills.

In conclusion, Smart Energy Management Systems are a powerful tool that can help households and
businesses to better manage their energy usage, reduce costs, and improve overall energy efficiency. With
real-time monitoring, remote control capabilities, and integration with IoT devices, these systems can
provide a wealth of information and control options, making it easy to take steps to reduce energy usage and
save money on electricity bills. By using a SEMS, you can be sure you are reducing your energy
consumption, reducing your carbon footprint, and ultimately saving money on your energy bills.

Project Management:

Project management for the development of a Smart Energy Management System (SEMS)
will involve a number of key steps and considerations. One of the first steps will be to
define the project scope and objectives, which will involve identifying the specific goals
and requirements for the SEMS. This may include determining the types of buildings or
systems that the SEMS will be used in, as well as the specific energy management
functions that it will need to perform.

Once the project scope and objectives have been defined, the next step will be to assign
specific roles and responsibilities. This will typically include a project Supervisor who will
be responsible for different aspects of the SEMS development.

The next step will be to develop a project plan, which will outline the specific tasks and
milestones that need to be completed in order to develop the SEMS. This plan will also
need to take into account any potential risks or obstacles that may arise during the project.

The project will then be executed, which will include the design, development, testing, and
deployment of the SEMS. This will involve closely monitoring the project progress,
making adjustments as needed, and communicating regularly with the project team and
Supervisor to ensure that the SEMS is developed on time and within budget.

Finally, once the SEMS is deployed, ongoing support will be required to ensure that the
system continues to function as expected and that any issues can be quickly resolved. The
project Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are
handled effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with all project management best
practices and standards.
