STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My 3 years in technology management broadened my perspective on multiple layers that affect

an organization’s business performance. As a practitioner, I gained first-hand experience in how
technology can address perennial problems that affect business operations at the macro and
micro levels. I took multiple senior management roles and saw the need for robust ERP data
governance to resolve root causes of operational hiccups, enhance productivity and decision-
making processes, and protect businesses from fraud, thus allowing organizations to achieve
their goals efficiently and make better decisions. Hence, these experiences solidified my desire to
pursue a Master of Business Administration major in Technology Management.

I have always believed that information is power. Hence, my decision to apply for the MBA
program at National Tsing Hua University would fulfil my learning and professional goals:

 Under software development skills, while I have performed QA testing manually through
keen observation and attention to detail along with the basics of systems and database
administration, I am very much limited with familiarity in automated testing methods,
approaches in case-scenario formulation, coding (syntaxes in modern programming
languages), database configuration, and information security. As for the business side, I
desire to further enhance my fundamental knowledge in the fields of Supply Chain
Management, Business Process Innovation, and Service Systems Design that are applied
in organizations of various industries.
 Inventory is a critical asset of each and every organization. A variance, regardless of
small and large quantities, could cause a major concern either as a result of theft, loss,
obsolescence, spoilage, data backlogs, inconsistencies in business procedures, or
inaccurate entries and tracking. With that in mind, I am specifically interested in further
exploring automated-oriented and efficient methods of data governance for effective
inventory management. Thus, I have identified National Tsing Hua University to have a
resourceful and strong track record of faculty members specializing in the fields involved
in my line of interest.
 I aspire to advance my career in the field of technology management and become a
recognized ERP Consultant specializing in Supply Chain Management to help Filipino-
Chinese businesses evolve in keeping inventory on track, increasing quality and speed of
 service, and implementing data governance through automated processes. To achieve
this, I plan to continue developing the required skills and knowledge through formal
education and hands-on experience while building a strong professional network and
collaborating with industry leaders to gain insights and directly learn from their
experiences.

Along with my enthusiasm to enhance data analytics and operations management, my

experiences as Systems Administrator with Philippine Wine Merchants and Senior Operations
Officer with Cylix Technologies, Inc. instilled the qualities that I bring along with me as a future
student of the program I am applying for:

 Strong grasp of fundamentals in business process, software quality assurance testing,

systems administration, data mining, and ERP-CRM systems;
 Leadership. In both my roles as Systems Administrator and Senior Operations Officer, I
recommend and execute solutions to solve long and short-term issues in relation to
systems control, data entries, quality assurance and control, and business process
documentation for day-to-day operations using the ERP system. My outputs resulted in a
more-organized form of data structure in the ERP system, the establishment of KPI
indicators for the Supply Chain Department, and improvement in the workflow of the
Supply Chain Department;
 Ability to work independently on functional tasks given and collaboratively in a team as
software development (design, testing, and training people) requires division of functions
and synergy of efforts;
 Quality of a lifelong learner. While I have a fundamental understanding and experience in
software development, I believe here is always room for theories, creativity, and
innovation that I hope to gain from my professors, co-students, and overall design of the
program;
