PART 1: ESSAY

Nowadays, a lot of people can talk at least two languages. And this is really important because, as
time goes by, many companies search for people who can talk many languages fluently. In
addition, learning a new language helps you to expand your skills such as text comprehension.

First of all, when you learn a language, you are not only learning words, but also you are gaining
knowledge about other cultures. Therefore, you get to know the history of the country and how
words developed to what they are today. A recent study has shown that the process of learning a
new language starts by introducing the history and culture of its own country.

As you learn more and more languages, you have the opportunity of increasing your job
opportunities. Today´s companies have a tendency of hiring people who speak many languages.
According to specialists, the level of people with this characteristic has increased over a sixty per
cent during the last decade. Furthermore, schools and universities are carrying out programs in
which students learn languages linked to what they study. Therefore, they finished university with
a wide range of knowledge so then they can be hired. For instance, if you are studying business,
you will learn business words.

To sum up, as far as I know learning a new language gives you three advantages: cultural
knowledge, new skills and a job.

PART 2: REPORT

INTRODUCTION:

The aim of this report is to outline my work experience in a large company, to describe the new
skills acquired and the people I worked with, and to evaluate how useful the experience will be for
my future career.

SKILLS ACQUIRED:

I was assigned in a big office in the accounting department in order to gain more experience about
the accountant management of a company. My daily duties involved in filling the accountant book,
organize the tickets and papers, and the most important: paying the taxes. And I want to remark
on this, because I also learn many ways to make a company pay less taxes such as changing the
system used when making the inventory book.

THE PEOPLE:

The first day I started working everyone received me with kindness and I felt really comfortable.
Besides, as days passed, I get to know everyone and we ended up being really good friends and
hanging out when we finished our working hours.

BENEFITS FOR THE FUTURE:

I gained a great deal from this work experience such as the environment of a company and its
people. It was also valuable in giving me independence and responsibility. I found a few problems
at first in adapting because it was my first time working but everyone accepted me as a full
member in the team and that made me feel more cozy.

CONCLUSION:

Overall it was a positive experience, which I recommend to other students.
