“Healthy body, healthy mind” Leomanni Francesco

Living in the modern world and in the modern society is not only phisically hard but it is especially
mentally hard. This is because of the big amount of stress that people have to deal with and have to
manage which depends on the problems that we have to face daily. For example, today, for adults
working all days for 10-12 hours every day in front of a computer is not healthy because in this way
they can get more easily stressed but also because people have to interact with the real world and
with other people phisically. An important example that we can talk about is the pandemic of
COVID-19 started in 2020 which made people stay at home and to get more stressed because they
couldn’t go outside and they had to work many hours every day in front of computers. It was
obviously also bad for people’s phisical health because they started eating junk food more often and
because they stopped walking or working out.

I think that one of the best ways to deal with anxiety and stress is meditation. It is a really old activity
that i love because it can make you feel instantly mentally free but also because you can feel even
better by practicing it every day and, if needed, more times a day. It doesn’t exist an only way to
practice meditation because there are a lot of different ways to approach it. Meditation in my
opinion is only about learning how to control your own breathe and then mastering this technique. I
remember that i used to meditate when i was more stressed because of school and i remember also
that i used to listen to relaxing music like gamma waves while doing it.

However i think that the best way to deal with modern society and stress is practicing sport and
following a healthy diet. I think that playing the sport you love can help to reduce the level of stress
and to stay happier. This is because the body and the mind are strictly connected so we can say that
“a heathy body can sustain a healthy mind”. This is reason we fell better when we come back home
after an hard training even if we feel a bit tired and this is also the reason why people during
pandemic started working out at home, so not only to stay in a good shape but also to reduce stress.

Finally i can also say that following an healthy diet can help, too. This is because following an healthy
diet means not eating junk food which requires a lot of discipline and to be constant.
