Executive Summary:
(For a minimum of 200 words, write the Project DRILL for IPs (Digitized Reading Intervention in
summary of the project that highlights the Language Literacy for Indigenous People) was designed

corresponding results achieved as to enhance and develop teaching strategies of English
milestone)s teachers to bridge the learning gaps of the learners caused
by COVID -19 pandemic.
There were three major milestones in the
implementation of the project. Milestone 1 was the Pre-
Execution, Milestone 2 was the Execution and Milestone
3 was the Post Execution.
Milestone 1 was the conceptualization, checking,
revision and pre-oral defense of the ReEntry Application
Project.
After the Project was approved by Schools Division
REAP Committee, the project implementer started the
Milestone 2 carrying out every activity as planned in the
project execution. During the project execution, teachers
were capacitated though LAC sessions in digitizing
reading texts such as DOLCH reading resources and
Fuller Method. Further, teachers were able to download
sight word drills and sentence builder from online
applications and Playstore in the tablet PCs .
Since learners were divided into 3 groups namely:
Basic Sight Words, Fuller Method (Sentences) and Fuller
(Paragraphs), there were progress reports submitted by
the teachers every two-weeks to track the learners
improvement and decide to transfer the learners to the
higher level if they already mastered the skills in reading
words assigned in their group or a need to retain them for
further intervention.
Reading teachers were assigned in a rotation basis.
This allowed them to experience different strategies
imposed in three groups. There schedules were arranged
to have a unified vacant time for a simultaneous
implementation of the project. A letter of permission from
the School Principal was secured to excuse the learners –
from their classes 3 times a week, preferably Monday,
Wednesday and Friday.
There were sessions for IP learners in using the
Tablet PCs in reading drills and games.

The third Milestone was the post execution phase.

Learners were given post test using the digitized Slosson
Oral Reading Test.

After the post test was implemented to 25 IP learners,

result showed that their reading level increased from their
current reading level. Though some of them were not able
to meet their exact grade level, but it is evident that there

What recommendations can you give to further improve the project gains in the future?
I strongly recommend that the project must be implemented yearly. The project does not only
help increase leaners’ reading level but also improve their skills in manipulating the
technology.
