Dear valued Partner & Service Agent,

This instruction manual will contain instructions in order to perform the update from 1.5.17 and
upwards versions to 1.8.7

Please note that only technicians trained after October 2020, will be able to perform APT procedure on
these updated v1.8.7 Systems. These versions will include major changes in configuration and
download/playback software.

Update procedure from v1.5.17 and upwards

1. Retrieve the required software from extranet: https://www.seasofsolutions.com/partner-portal/

2. Download, save and bring on board:

3. On board, check the actual s/w version running via the BCU > menu> software

 important note:

• For 1.5.17 systems, be sure the mic's and VHF interface are running on 0.9.9 When
version 0.9.8 appears, update the mic/VHF first with the old update manager (1.5.2 and
package v1.5.17 before proceeding! (eventually contact service@seasofsolutions.com)

• If any failures appear during the Update Procedure, follow instructions from bulletin
TB20230616 and run the procedure again

PROCEDURE

1. Connect to the VDR, install VDR Update Manager 1.5.2 and open the program, make sure the
connection to the VDR is made and stable.

2. Browse to the downloaded service pack and press “SELECT DEVICES FOR UPDATE”
Start the update

 Updating to 1.8.7 (last version) takes up to 20 minutes, so be patient!

3. When finished, open the configurator via a web browser with: https://nw6000.netwave.local and
open the configurator

4. Fill in the required fields on the general page, and open the upgrade page Select the
NWSP_v1.8.7.zip package and upload

 5. Update the devices where needed and verify if all pages in the configurator are correctly made.
Close and verify, modify the complete configuration set up where needed, save when finished.

6. Install the new player and create a player-config .json (playback configuration file) for systems
which were running on 1.5.17/1.6.3.

Select with basic configuration = yes and configure as taught

during training.

Modify and edit systems with existing player-config.json

files!(choose, no)

7. Open the player with the known passcode, make a download and configure the VDR

8. Export the player configuration which you just made, to the VDR when finished.
