1. Installation
It is required that the installer implementing this procedure marks the boxes located to the right of
the items to indicate acceptance of the item.
If the item has been completed the technician must mark the YES column to indicate compliance
with associated item (non-compliance should be indicated by marking the NO column).
Once all items in each section have been checked, the installer should then initial and date his/her
findings directly below the items.
The completed and signed check list with the required data MUST be forwarded to Netwave Systems
BV, pls send the check list with all required data items and additional documentation in one zipped
file to:
netwavesystems.wetransfer.com
Netwave Systems BV MUST receive the completed check list before activation of the VDR Warranty.

There is space from all sides of the Core module (as outlined in Netwave Systems
Operator and Installation Manual).
The Core Module is mounted where it is out of direct sunlight, away from heat
sources and away from places subject to rain and water (as outlined in the
Netwave Systems NW6000 Operator and Installation Manual)
VDR Data Port is easily accessible on the underside of the bulkhead casing.
Data cable is connected securely and the cable gland into the junction box is
taped.
Data cable from VHF interface to Core Module is run and installed.
Data cable between Audio Hub(s) unit are run and installed.
Data cable from DAQ module(s) to Core Module is run and installed
Data cable from Bridge Control unit to Core Module is run and installed.
Data cables from the radar/video interface to Core Module (if applicable) is run
and installed.
Ship’s emergency power cable to the Core Module is run and installed.
ALL Ethernet cables are confirmed to be shielded maritime type (minimum CAT6
preferable CAT7) and have proper shielded (metallic) RJ-45 plugs properly fitted
The Microphone cables from the interface to the mic’s are connected according to
the installation instructions
All cables are marked with number and/or source designation according to the
cable plan.
Ensure for each cable terminated at the VDR that the source end is connected to
the proper output.
BCU, Core Module, DAQ module case plate, video module are grounded to ship’s
hull

Test Conditions
Connect the configuration laptop to the VDR as per NW6000 Operator and installation manual
After checking and configuring all related sensors, create a dataset by downloading 5 minutes of
data with voice test.

Check if audio signal is being received in VDR using the ‘identify’ method in configurator.
Using the configurator, configure all connected microphones and VHF audio.
Video Sources appearing correctly in video live test on the connected PC.

‘NO’, or ‘N/A’ box):

Confirm that the EPIRB is programmed, and registered, and additional documents have
been produced.
When power is removed a power failure alarm is generated on the BCU and green power
LED on power module in Core Module is blinking.
When power is restored the power failure message will disappear in the BCU and green
LED on power module in Core Module is steady ON.
Sample 5minute data capture including voice test has been sent to Netwave Systems.
All ship sensor equipment connected to the NW6000 must be listed, with associated information, below.
Sensor data needs to be recorded into the final recording medium as per MSC.333(90) Section 5.5.19.
