RULES AND REGULATIONS – GPL

SEASON 4

Bowling and Fielding Rules:


1. A maximum of only 6 players can take the field at a given point of time.
2. Substitutes can be used only for Feilding purposes.
3. Each match will be of 6 overs, the knockouts will be 8 overs and the finals will be of
10 overs .
4. In the 6-over game, 2 bowlers can bowl max of 2 overs and the remaining 2 overs
will be bowled by two different bowlers.
5. In a 6 over game, only 1 fielder is allowed to stand near the boundaries for the first 2
overs.
6. In the 8-over games, one bowler can bowl 3 overs, two bowlers can bowl two overs,
and one can bowl one over max.
7. In 10 over game, two bowlers can bowl 3 overs and two bowlers can bowl 2 overs.
8. All forms of dismissals allowed and accepted by the international cricket council will
be followed except the leg before wicket type of dismissal. This means bowled,
stumping, caught, run out, mankading, and hit wicket will be allowed forms of
dismissal.
9. Each bowler must complete his over of 6 balls if he starts the over. No other bowler
can take over.
10. There will be 2 over of powerplay where only 1 fielder will be allowed behind the
powerplay marker.
11. The umpire's decision is final and no arguments against the umpires will be
tolerated.
12. Keeper and fielder gloves are not allowed.

Batting Rules:
1. The straight wall is considered the boundary. Direct impact on the straight wall will
result in 6, and impact from the left side wall on the straight wall will result in 4 runs.
Makers will be placed for clarification.
2. Direct impact on the right side wall or above the first row of the stands (right side
from entrance to the gym) will result in 2 runs.
3. Direct impact on the roof will result in 1 run
4. Wide balls will result in 1 run and re-ball
5. No ball will result in 1 run and a free-hit ball. No ball includes overstepping, Above
waist-length ball, and breaching of power play rules.
6. Suppose the ball does not hit the DECLARED RUN REGIONS. The batsmen will have to
run between the wickets to increase the score.
7. Overthrows are accounted for additional runs
