1. CLOTH DIAPERS AND CLOTH SANITARY PADS

1.1 SUMMARY CLOTH DIAPERS & PADS

During our community mapping in all the 14 regions of Namibia in year 2021, Bottom Line,
Health Workers and Special Unit Care Takers raises awareness about diaper needs and how it
affects low-income families and the risks facing those without a healthy supply. To combat
this risk and struggles, we will work with the society to ensure that the needs.

We have observed that parents are not putting anything on their babies because they don’t
have diapers, some use shopping bags with some rags and a t-shirt as a diaper. People also
tend to keep diapers on longer than necessary, in some hospitals and old age homes we
have notice that patients, elderly and disabled are soaked in urine and diarrhea for a longer
period due to lack of diapers and manpower. The cloth diapers are an invention that
revolutionized the baby care industry, which exists today as a practical solution to the
problem of dirty, smelly, wet baby bottoms throughout the country. Females also use toilet
papers and any type of material if not having pads which cause infections.

We are on the verge of entering a lucrative market in a growing country. The current
population fertility rate and increased admissions in hospitals and health care centers
presents an opportunity for ‘Cloth Diapers & Pads’ to enter and penetrate the baby and
adult cloth diapers and cloth sanitary pads market. ‘Cloth Diapers & Pads’ are poised to take
advantage of this growth rate and minimal local competition, with dedicated and
experienced staff, effective management and marketing. We will support those in need of
diapers by providing access for infants, toddlers, incontinent adults, bedridden and those
who are recovering from or living with medical challenges in Namibia with our first roll out.
Everybody deserves to be clean, comfortable, dry, and healthy. We intend to implement a
progressive marketing strategy which our name and products are marketed on an extensive
basis to ensure that customers are aware of our existence.

We realise the fact that for us to prosper in this relatively untapped market, there is need to
be flexible and responsive, to delight our customers by providing them with what they want,
when they want it and in the exact quantity and quality.

Our primary goal will be to establish and strengthen our existence in the market, which will
be bestowed by the business environment in which we function.

Our marketing strategy will be based mainly on ensuring that customers know about our
existence and the products we produce. Hence our intention is to make the right
information available to the right target customers. This will be done through implementing
a market penetration strategy that will ensure that we are well known and respected in the
market.

We will ensure that our products’ prices are favourable relative to our South African
counterparts’ and China prices, and that our potential customers appreciate the quality
of our products. However, the prices we charge will also take into consideration the cost of
production and distribution so as to ensure that we remain viable and operational. We will
appreciate the fact that the majority of wholesalers and intermediaries will order our
products perceive South African products to be of higher quality and reliability. To
counteract this, there will be need for us to not only aggressively market the high quality of
our products, but also to go out of our way in serving our customers and clients so as to
establish a good long-term relationship.

Our target markets will primarily constitute health care institutions especially maternity
wards, wholesalers and other intermediaries who often order in bulk for their customers like
for example MVA and concerned individuals. Hence there will be need to network with the
various decision-makers/order-makers to ensure we receive orders for our products.

We intend to achieve optimal productivity whilst realizing the full potential of each of our
employees through provision of health care, generous profit sharing. Awards will be given
out to outstanding individuals for hard work and production so as to not only show our
appreciation, but to instil a sense of fun into the work and promote the maintenance of high
standards.

Ultimately the attractiveness of our venture lies with the fact that customers will choose our
products above those of competitors because of the relatively lower prices as well as their
high quality. Hence Baby Nappies World’s ongoing initiatives will be to drive sales, market
share and productivity so as to provide additional impetus towards attainment of the
corporate goals and objectives.

3 BABY CLOTH DIAPERS

3.1 ADVANTAGES OF CLOTH DIAPER

3.1.1 It helps to save a lot of money

Cloth diapering is an economical choice for cutting costs in the long run. The modernized cloth
diapers have been created to be more efficient and user friendly. These high-quality modern cloth
diapers might cost a lot at first, but later, you will find out you won’t need to buy a new one until
your baby doesn’t need one anymore and can use for next baby.

3.1.2 Contains no Chemicals
You surely might end up with more laundries, but your baby will definitely have less exposure to
harmful chemicals that can cause skin irritation and extreme dryness. It also doesn’t make much
difference because mothers usually wash baby clothes after bathing their babies. Also, when using
cloth diapers, irritations like diaper rashes and allergic are less.
3.1.3 Helps save the environment
Did you know that using cold water in full loads and line drying has the lowest impact on the
environment? With a cloth diaper, you as a parent have more control over the impact you make on
the environment.

3.2 DISAVANTAGES OF CLOTH DIAPER

3.2.1 Landfill pollution

The landfill pollution caused by disposable diapers is worrisome and awareness with solutions are
needed urgently. Disposable diapers are the 3rd largest consumer item in landfills, and
represent 30% of non-biodegradable waste. It also makes up more ocean pollution then plastic bags.
Landfill pollution also contribute catastrophic climate change worldwide. Urgent solutions are
needed worldwide to safe planet earth, cloth diaper and cloth pads are one of the solutions
JRProjects will impact to contribute towards climate change in our country Namibia.

3.2.2 Lots of washing is needed

Some challenges come with using cloth diapers, and one must know before embracing it.” Yes, a
washing machine makes it easy, but it isn’t as simple as just tossing it in. It requires diligence and
timely washing to keep them germ-free and clean.

3.2.3 They are smelly

Cloth diapers are advance and modern then grandma’s cloth diapers but less absorbent than the
disposable diapers. You have to carry used diapers which can be uncomfortable at times if you
don’t have a proper waterproof diaper bag. The baby will also need to be changed more often
because cloth diapers do not have chemical absorbers.

4 ADULT CLOTH DIAPERS

An adult diaper is a term which is used to refer to a diaper which is meant for the adults.   There are
many reasons why an adult may wear a diaper and some of them include mobility impairment,
dementia, excessive diarrhea and incontinence. There are many kinds of adult diapers-while some
are made similar to regular child diapers, others may be more like underpants. Often, the term
‘briefs’ is used to refer to these diapers in order to maintain dignity of the patient or person who is to
use them.

4.1 ADVANTAGES OF ADULT DIAPERS

4.1.1 Incontinence
If a person is suffering from severe incontinence, then he/she may be asked to wear an adult diaper
to avoid creating a mess especially when not at home.

4.1.2 Mobility Impairment

Those who cannot move around very much and need to go to the toilet on their beds only may also
need to wear these diapers.
4.1.3 Excessive Diarrhea
Another way in which an adult diaper proves very useful for those who may be suffering from an
excessive or severe kind of diarrhea. These individuals may be on bed rest and may have to use the
adult diaper due to the rapid frequency of motions.

4.2 DISADVANTAGES OFADULT DIAPERS

4.2.1 Adults Discomfort

Not all adults may be very comfortable or welcoming to the idea of wearing diapers and it may be
very difficult to convince them because of pride issues. This is a major disadvantage of this product.
It can be embarrassing for adults to wear diapers and they may refuse to use them. Some people
tend to get addicted to wearing adult diapers because of the convenience they offer and this too
can be considered as one of the disadvantages of this product.

5 CHALLENGES, SOLUTIONS, LONG-TERM IMPACT

5.1 CHALLENGES

Caregivers of those with special needs living in extreme poverty especially around rural areas.
Though rescue centers, orphanages and missionaries exist to assist some of these populations,
those organizations still struggle to find enough funding and supplies to help these babies, children,
and adults. Imagine re-using a disposable diaper simply because you can't afford for your baby
otherwise - that's a decision many of these organizations have made.

5.2 SOLUTIONS

One cloth diaper can replace the need for over 400 (or more!) disposable diapers. This is an
opportunity for tremendous cost savings. Through our Cloth Diaper Project across Namibia, we
can help local organizations and the state to leverage the funds they have available to better care
for needy in other ways. In many places, organizations see decreased infant mortality rates and
increased quality of life through cleaner environments and more availability of basic living needs.

5.3 LONG-TERM IMPACT

Project’s continuation to have their diaper needs solved, they will be able to save funds and plan
for future improvements in their care. This can mean adding educational programs, offering better
healthcare, improved quality of food (more protein!) - all steps that set these humans with special
needs up for long term survival and a decent quality of life. After you are done having kids,
because you can use them for more than one child, you can sell them for 75% of what you
purchased them for. You can't do that with disposables. We want to help more, save the
environment more, and show the world that cloth isn't what your grandma used to use!

6 CLOTH SANITARY PADS

There are girls who are not going to school because they don’t have the supplies to stay in school
while they’re menstruating. Cloth menstrual pads are more economical and environmentally
friendly. Though private donor fund aids and distributes disposables but not all the girls are lucky to
get and they also don’t get each month. Most schools only help when emergency occur at school
grounds. It also cost millions of dollars’ expenses yearly. While with cloth sanitary pads will reduce
millions of dollars’ expenses yearly and also safe environmental hazards. Project aims to donate
cloth sanitary pads to school for those in the need in the near future.

6.1 ADVANTAGES OF CLOTH SANITARY PADS

The most important benefit of reusable cloth pads is that it is 'reusable'. They are made of
biodegradable and environment-friendly materials. Reusable Sanitary Pads Reduce Plastic Use.
This creates considerably less overall waste compared to disposable products. They can last for
several months and are thus pocket-friendly. Don't have any harmful chemical.

6.2 DISADVANTAGES OF CLOTH SANITARY PADS

Sometimes it can be a little tricky to wash the blood stains away and you will have to put in a bit of
your effort since you have to do hand wash. Hand washing can be time consuming. After washing
the pad, you cannot be certain when it will dry. Sometimes it will take longer than expected. If you
are traveling or in a public are, you will have to carry an extra bag so that you can store your used
reusable menstrual pads. Some might find disgusting or uncomfortable to hand wash.

7. OBJECTIVES

The Project will have 2-dimension departments, namely Cloth Baby/Adult Diapers and Cloth
Sanitary Pads. This initiative will not only provide comforts to the people but will create jobs while
keeping the environment clean and safe against landfill pollution. It will contribute towards climate
change solution as well.

8. MISSION

Our mission is to fight against landfill pollution in our country. Bring comfort and smile on many.
Provide schools and maternity wards with cloth pads through donations which will be supported by
Namibian businesses and supplied by JRProject initiative.

9. SWOT ANALYSIS

9.1 STRENGTHS

Strengths will be bringing services closer to the community, create jobs and the fairness of our
pricing. Also, no competitors in our own Namibian made brand apart from imported brands from
abroad, which will make us the only players in the market.

9.2 WEAKNESSES

Economic factors are a pivotal weakness. As a new start up, Project will depend upon the income
and support of consumers.

9.3 KEY TO SUCCESS

The Keys to success of this 2-dimension cloth diaper and cloth pads Project will be:

Good Service - The fair and loyal treatment of the customer is a fundamental component to the
success of any business which will be our priority.
Marketing – Project will have an intensive marketing approach to keep up with the increasing
global technology and trends.

Client Base Expansion – Project will always have client base appraisals to have room for new
ideas, advices and continues improvement and have 100% client satisfactory.

9.4 OPPORTUNITIES

The project was privileged to received first cloth diaper order request worth N$20 000 from
NAMCOR. This opportunity will open many doors and we will make use of the opportunity to
produce the best quality products which will be marketed and supplied throughout Namibia.
Currently the cloth diaper and sanitary pads market focus mainly on imports which puts
JRProject the first of kind.

9.5 THREATS

The major threat are the neighboring countries and China where Namibians import from.

9.6 COMPETITIVE EDGE

Currently we don’t have competition in Namibia as an own Namibian brand. Competition is only
from the importers.

9.7 SALES STRATEGY

Our fair pricing and 2

Dimension strategy will enhance our customer sales.

9.8 SALES FORECAST

The sales forecast shows the projected sales for the services over the course of the next five
years. Growth is gradual, which will allow for Project to maintain a solid infrastructure while
still expanding.

9.9 MILESTONES

The milestones for the next 5 years of the Project will be promoting and distributed in all 14
regions of Namibia. Main focus area will be Maternity Wards where birth starts.
