Executive Summary
A. Product
Only a small number of consumers are familiar with
our product, which are Taro Chips. We want to increase
the number of people who buy this goods. The taro root
crop is used to make taro chips, which are then fried and
seasoned with cheese, spicy cheese, and plain flavors. It
is nutritious since taro is a root vegetable that is abundant
in fiber, as well as because its high concentrations of
vitamins C, B6, and E support a strong immune system
and may neutralize free radicals. Our goal is to make our
product affordable for all possible costumers we can
reach. Taro has a deeper, and nuttier flavor than a potato,
it has a thick starchy texture when boiled. It can also be
fried, or roasted. Taro has more fiber than potato, it is
high in Vitamin B, C, E, potassium, manganese, and
copper.

A.1 Product Preparation

It is the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of our
company to always wear Personal Protective Equipment
when we are in the process of making our food. We
ensure you that the product you eat is always clean. Our
kitchen went various inspection conducted by the
Sanitary Inspector’s Unit by our municipality’s health
center.

B. Mission
Our goal as business owners is to make money
while providing consumers with a quality product at a
reasonable price. The primary goal of the HUMSS food
taro cheap manufacturing company is to ensure a supply
chain that satisfies their ever-increasing demand for high-
quality products in their healthier form that may be
stored and supplied to various markets locally as well as
globally throughout the year. Take the most popular food
in the world, add our proprietary spice blends, and the
result is the world's healthiest food.
4

C. Vision

acclaim are our goals in the upcoming near future.
Additionally, we want to build a company where all of
our partners, stakeholders, investors, and employees, in
particular, get along well. Finally, we wish to create,
expand, and improve the space, tools, and equipment we
use for business. We also look forward on having our
stalls in various malls and even schools in the near future.
Lastly, even though some people might think it is too

Company Overview

HUMSS Food Manufacturing Industry is a

company that turns taro root crop into chips. On January
21, 2023, a group of students founded HUMSS Food
Manufacturing Industry with the goal of producing and
selling a healthy alternative to commercial junk food at a
reasonable price.
This industry's legal structure is a General
Partnership, which is owned by one or more people and
in which everything is shared equally, from the costs and
expenses to the profit itself. This entity is ideal for
anyone interested in starting a business with a family
member, friend, or business partner. For both parties to
succeed, a business partnership agreement must be a
win-win situation. Business partnerships have numerous
advantages, two of which are listed below:
1. Growth Potential
With more than one owner, you have a better
chance of obtaining a business loan. Bankers can
consider two credit histories rather than one, which can
be advantageous if your credit score is less than stellar.
2. Special Taxation
General partnerships must file Form 1065 and state
returns, but they usually do not pay income tax. On their
individual income tax returns, both partners report their
joint income or loss. For example, if you and a friend
start a bakery and structure it as a general partnership,
you and
6

your friend are co-owners. Each owner brings a different

level of experience and working capital to the table,
which affects each partner's business share and
contribution. If you contributed the most seed capital to
the company, you and your partner may agree to keep a
larger share percentage, making you the majority owner.

HUMSS Food Manufacturing Industry is located at

Baranggay Lumakil, Poblacion, Polomolok, South
Cotabato. We chose this location because it is near the
farm where taro is being plant. It is easy for us to access
suppliers when we are near where the raw product is
produced.
Our main agenda why we thought about a product
that is not so familiar among people is because we want
to be somehow unique and innovative. We want to
increase overall brand and product awareness about the
taro root crop and slowly encourage people to be more
supportive among local products.
The target market of our product is everybody who
wants to buy and try our Taro Chips. We want to be
inclusive enough so that many people would buy and
eventually go back to buy our Taro Chips. Either kids,
teenagers, middle agers and even oldies could enjoy our
products.
We considered the taste buds of our consumers
that’s why we have cheese flavoured taro chips, sour
crème flavoured taro chips, hot and spicy flavoured taro
chips, and even barbeque flavoured taro chips.
7

We are created a product that is budget friendly which is

very considerate for consumers especially that we are in
the midst of inflation right now. The uniqueness of our
company among others is simply easy, we give the
costumers the information they need, we keep in touch
with their viewpoints and make actions aligned with
what they want. And lastly, we know that our product is
worth buying for our products are not skimpy when it
comes to ingredients and the bag content itself.

Problem and Solution

1. PROBLEM:
Our first issue was determining how to keep the size of
the taro chips consistent because thin taro chips are easy
to break and thick taro chips are hard;
SOLUTION:
So we used a feller to control the size. When you’re
slicing.
2. PROBLEM:
Our second issue is how we reuse the oil to save money.
SOLUTION:
We filter it twice to get the taro chip that was purchased
because if it is not obtained, it can contaminate our
product by sticking to the new taro chips.
3. SOLUTION:
Our third issue is determining how much we will charge
for our product and our taro chips is sometimes super
spicy, sometimes it’s too salty or sometimes it’s under-
seasoned.
PROBLEM:
We canvassed the cost of all the ingredients and
discovered how much they cost. We also had some
adjustments and additions to our flavoring varieties make
the taste consistent.
9

Target Market
Our target market is students and teachers of Notre
Dame-Siena College of Polomolok, who loved our taro
chips during our food tasting and curious about our
product.
We also considered their feedbacks about our
flavouring varieties like adding the sour crème flavour
because a lot of our target market said that they really
like the said flavouring.
The age range of our costumers are 7-12 years old
(elementary students), 13-16 years old (Junior High
School students), 16-18 years old (Senior High School
students) and even people who aged from 20-60 years
old (Personnels of our School).
10

Competition
We have a lot of competitors because a lot of groups
also sell the same day as ours, we have the same location
and same target market. But somehow, we eventually
had an idea on how to sell it. We roomed around the
campus and encourage the students to buy our Taro
Cheaps. We also sold it to our friends, close teachers and
even visitors who went to watch our intramural activity.
The strategy that we developed was to have a person who
is very good at sales talking which is one among our
groupmates. With the help of effective sales talk we were
able to gain a lot of costumers and they even want to us
to sell it for the following days even that our intramurals
is already over.
