Deck mounted basin mixer : Placed on the counter/ basin ledge . No Concealed
part is needed here, Only hot and cold angle wall points are required.
They are used with under counter basins/ over counter basins with tap hole/ Drop in
basins with tap hole/ semi reccessed basins with tap hole. The spout height is usually 5-
6” and the hand needs about 5” space between the basin and tap to accommodate and

Classification on basis of Water Flow :
Foam Flow : It is the usual flow with
air and water mixed. This flow does
not allow water to splash after landing
on the basin and thus can be used
with shallow basins too.
The quality of mixing of Water and Air
depends on the aerator which should
be of superior quality as else a stream
of water will come instead of a froath
flow
The touch-less feature of it makes it widely used in Commercial places like Malls,
restaurants etc for the following reasons :
1. To maintain hygiene : since this avoids usage of hands to turn ON/OFF the faucet.
Multiple people do not touch the same handle which can cause to spread of
germs/virus,etc
2. To avoid wastage of water : Once sensed, the tap gives water for certain seconds
only thus making sure water is not wasted in commercial places.
b. Controller used in two hole and one-hole spouts : known as single lever basin
mixers, these levers use only one lever for controlling the volume ( up & down
movement ) of water and setting the temperature ( sideways movement ). They can
be a part of the spout or can be placed separately on the wall/ counter. Various
designs such as square, round and joystick available.
c. Progressive cartridge : In this the lever only moves clockwise. The volume of water
remains fixed and as you go from one extreme side to another, the temperature
increases.
Dry Area: WC Area :
Wall Hung WC : These WCs are fixed on
the wall without taking any support from
the floor. Usually make use of P trap.
Rimless – The overall lipping is removed from the inside and water comes from back side in
Vortex movement. This prevents accumulation of germs which were earlier easier to spot.
Sleek seat cover – For ease of back rest.
Quick release seat cover – For easy and effective cleaning of the area around hinges.
Goes in wall
Multi flow : Usually come with a round diameter of about 4 inches and allows user to
change between two – three functions. The functions can be changed using a button or
a sliding button.
Hand showers :
Single flow : Single flow hand showers are sleek handshowers usually in a cylinder /
rectangle shape. They may also come with a dia like multiflow showers but in single
flow.
Types of Hanging arrangements :
1. Separate outlet and separate hook
2. Outlet and hook in same piece
3. Separate outlet with rail
4. Outlet from rail itself
In all above situations it is necessary to make notes about the chosen option in technical
drawing to arch to avoid any wrong plumbing point.
Use of rail : Rail allows the user to adjust the height and angle of hand shower as per user
and use the same without holding it. It is frequently used by female users to avoid
wetting hair from over head / rain shower. Also used in budget bathrooms to avoid
spending on over head shower by putting it on center with / without a spout

Wet Area: Shower area :Body jets :
Body jets are additional shower features added on the wall to spray water on the body
from the front/ back / side instead of top like showers. The small ones usually
come in multiples of 2.
1. Exposed body jets :
They come over the finished surface. No concealed is needed for them and only outlet
points need to be left at the position.
2. Concealed body jets : They come with a concealed part which needs to be installed
while installing the divertor concealed thus before the surface is clad. The upper
cover is then put in the end when other uppers are installed.

Manual mixing of Hot and cold water by Thermostatic cartridge which monitors and
the user mixes water as per temperature set by user.
Incase of sudden drop of supply of cold / Incase of such situation, the cartridge will
hot the other water will continue to balance the other temperature water also thus
come in same amount thus leading to maintain the temperature of water.
sudden change in temperature.
No such safety feature is available in It has a safety silicon which inflates in case hot
Shower mixers water crosses the tolerable limit and blocks
water outlet thus saving the user from
scalding. Upon coming in contact with
tolerable the temperature, it goes back to old
position thus allowing flow of water
Volume control is possible in all cases as Volume control is NOT possible in all cases as
the same catridge controls temperature the same catridge DOES NOT controls
and water flow temperature and water flow
It is more economical than Thermostats It is expensive than Shower mixers

Bath Tubs :
Dictionary defines Bath tub as a a long plastic, metal,
or ceramic container that is filled with water so that you can sit or lie in it
to wash your whole body. But in the world of Bathrooms, Bathtub is a
piece of Art in one’s bathroom which is not only soothing to the eyes but
also a successful wellness product used to relieve one from stress.
Earlier times the bathtubs were made of raw materials like Ceramic / metal.
Whereas metal tubs still continue to be used in some places, the ceramic
tubs are largely replaced by Cast acrylic sheet tubs which give the same
shine as Ceramic and are lighter, cheaper, easy to move and maintain and
with better finishing.
Other material which may be used to make tubs are wood and Stone. But their
application is very limited.
Features that make a Simple tub into a Whirlpool:
1. Jacuzzi : Refers to the underwater jets at the longer sides of the tub. Depending
on size of the tub it may vary from 3 on each side to 4 on each side. A motor is
needed to operate the same.
2. Air Spa : Refers to underwater jets evenly distanced and distributed on the floor of
the tub. Depending on the size of tub it may vary from 18 to 36 outlets. A motor is
needed to operate the same.

3. Back jets : Refers to the underwater jets at one of the shorter sides of the
tub on the head size. 6 jets at angles to provide soothing relaxation are
put. Incase of double seater tub, another 6 are added.
4. Foot jets : Refers to the underwater jets at one of the shorter sides of the
tub on the Foot size. 4 jets at low level in a square shape arrangement are
placed to provide soothing relaxation to each foot. Incase of double seater
tub, another 4 are added.
1. Inset Tubs :
a. Fitted in ledge made at site by client. The ledge can be clad with stone/ tile/ etc as
per client preference.
b. It is finished from the inside only and outer side in left unfinished.
c. The tub appears to be resting in the ledge cavity but has its own legs and cradle
thus is not dependent on the ledge to take the weight.
Bathtub legs
d. Different features of jaccuzzi can be added and nearly all options can have all the
features.
e. The cavity should ideally be 25mm smaller from all sides than of tub outer
size to give resting look. For instance for a 1800 by 900 mm tub the cavity
size will be 1750 by 850mm.
f. The drain and electric point( for even a single feature of whirlpool) are
left as per the technical. But it is essential to understand the all motors
are within the outer size of tub. Meaning if the tub size is 1800 by 900
mm, the motors will be accommodated within this size. This is possible
due to the slant of tub while going from top to bottom. See below
drawing

2. Free standing Tubs :
a. These are freestanding tubs which can be placed without a ledge which is
manufactured using inner and outer shell – 2 sheets.
b. It is finished from the both inside and outside.
c. The tub is finished with Acrylic sheet till end but there are legs in the same to
hold the weight.

d. All jaccuzi features can be added but depending on the model of tub. Thin
rim and classical tubs cannot have whirlpool systems as in Thin rim
enough space between the two shells to take space of jets and piping and
classical tubs are only made of inner shell so jets will get exposed. In thin
rim tubs, only air spa can be added at the bottom.
e. The drain and electric point( for even a single feature of whirlpool) are
left as per the technical. But it is essential to understand the all motors
are within the tub. They are usually place in the bottom in the gap
between the inner shell and leg bottom
Classical Tub cannot have whirlpool as single
shell Thin Tubs like this cannot have whirlpool
Panels made of sheets acrylic sheets can be added along the long side of an inset tub (
incase there is a wall on three side) or on one long side and one short side of an
inset tub ( incase there is a wall only on two sides).
This is done to give the tub a look of free standing without spending that cost and also
to save space of a ledge in space constraint bathroom. Many times such
orientation is seen in bathrooms where the shower area is with the tub itself.
With Single long Panel With long Panel and short Panel
4. Overflow inset tubs and cascade flow inset tubs :
In over flow tubs the water comes till brim of the tub as the over flow waste in
standard tubs is not here. The water flows into the cavity outside and
then is recycled back into the main tub via whirlpool jets. The outside
cavity has the overflow waste to to avoid overflow of water into the
bathroom.
In Cascade tubs, the water from jets goes out of main inner shell and re enter
the tub using a two / one sided cascade flow to give a look of water fall
These are free standing tubs with Jacuzzi features and seats to sit. Unlike
standard tubs, they have door which gets water sealed and thus are used
for old age clients or clients suffering from arthritis for whom it is difficult
to climb in and out of tubs.
Bathtub Accessories :
In free standing classical tubs, Metal P trap is used as it is visible in the same and can be
finished in same finish as legs.
Plastic P trap
Metal P trap
Used to create a steam room. Usually it is added in the shower area only.
Scope of Supply from us include the Steam generator, Control panel and steam
outlet.
Floor Drains :
For Wc / Basin / Small shower areas squares of size 100mm/ 120mm/ 150mm by
same size are used. They have a sealent to stop entry of odour, gases and
insects. They can be finished with Metal or with Tiles / Stone being used on
the floor.
Basic Allied :
For shower areas with Large size showers or Multiflow showers, Long grates of
length 600mm, 750mm, 900mm are used for Faster flow of water. On seeing
physical sample you shall notice the space in these long grating cavity which
can hold water till the drain takes it out. Their drain point may come in the
center or at side. Side holes are usually used in renovation of old bathrooms
when the drain is at side and cannot be shifted. Longer drains also make
making slop easier as water just needs to be slopped to one side and not one
corner.
