A RESOLUTION RECCOMENDING THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN COUNCIL TO

PASS A LEGISLATIVE MEASURE TO ORGANIZE AND CONDUCT INTERNATIONAL
DAY AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS & ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN GUBATAN MACO
DAVAO DE ORO
WHEREAS, The 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, particularly Article
II, Section 5, declares, as one of the State’s Principles, that the maintenance of peace
and order, the protection of life, liberty, and property, and promotion of the general
welfare are essential for the employment by all the people of the blessings of
democracy;
WHEREAS, Likewise, Section 16 of Republic Act 7160 or The Local Code of Government
of 1991 states that the Local Government Units shall, within their territorial jurisdictions,
promote health and safety, improve public morals, maintain peace and order, and
preserve the comfort and convenience of their inhabitants;

WHEREAS, The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World
Drug Day, is marked on 26 June every year, to strengthen action and cooperation in
achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse;

WHEREAS, The Sangguniang Kabataan Joint Committee on ENVIRONMENTAL

PROTECTION, CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND
RESILIENCY, COMMITTEE ON ANTI-DRUG ABUSE AND SOCIAL PROTECTION AND GOOD
GOVERNANCE convened for a Joint Committee Meeting on June 19, 2022 to discussed
the very urgent measures of Sangguniang Kabataan that need an action of the
Committee level;

WHEREAS, The Committee members of Joint Committee on Environmental Protection,

Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and Resiliency, Committee On
Anti-Drug Abuse And Social Protection And Good Governance agreed to approved the
Resolution recommending the Sangguniang Kabataan Council to organize and support
the program of BADAC the International Against Illegal Drugs and Illicit Trafficking by
conducting “ZUMBA KONTRA ILLEGAL NA DRUGA”;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Honorable Richard M. Mangubat and seconded by

Alvin Jay M. Libres be it;

RESOLVED, As it is hereby resolved, that the Sangguniang Kabataan shall recommend

the Sangguniang Kabataan Council to support the programs and activities of Barangay
Anti-Drugs and Abuse Council (BADAC);

RESOLVED, That this resolution will be forwarded to the Office of Sangguniang

Kabataan Chairperson and BADAC for appropriate actions;

I hereby certify to the correctness of the foregoing of SK Joint Committee on

Environmental Protection, Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and
Resiliency, Committee On Anti-Drug Abuse And Social Protection And Good Governance
Resolution Number 3 Series of 2022 otherwise known as the “A RESOLUTION
RECCOMENDING THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN COUNCIL TO PASS A
LEGISLATIVE MEASURE TO ORGANIZE AND CONDUCT INTERNATIONAL DAY
AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS & ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN GUBATAN MACO DAVAO
DE ORO” adopted by the Sangguniang Kabataan Members during their regular monthly
session on June 19, 2022.
