1. The Teaching methods I feel are best to use when I qualify as a teacher are as
follows:

The teaching methods I would use, and feel are best when I qualify as a teacher are
mainly two. The first one is CLT also known as Communicative Language Teaching
which is an approach concerned with what students need to communicate outside
the classroom it emphasizes this on the choice of language content and materials
with a huge emphasis on role play, pair and group work. I feel this method is best
because it fosters a student-centred approach which increases student engagement,
promoting confidence to speak the language and eliminates any dull or boring
components to the classroom. This method is great because it lessens the TTT and
gives the student a greater chance to be independent of the teacher.

When I was in primary school my teacher used the Direct method also known as the
natural way teaching English directly using target language, no mother tongue is
used. Basically, with this method we would have conversations, discussions and
reading all in English without translation .in this method my primary school teacher
used various images and pictures to illustrate her point which made me quickly grasp
the language.

However, she also used the TPR method also known as Total Physical Response
which entails use of physical movement to react to verbal input. ,this method
resonated more with me because it enhanced my listening skills and I quickly learnt
what words meant .As a young learner I became so excited to attend that class
because I was interested to know what word we would learn and act out the
meaning of the word .For this reason when I become a qualified teacher this is the
second teaching method I feel would be best especially for young learners especially
when teaching vocabulary with the use of games , songs and gestures and facial
expressions .

In conclusion the teaching methods I think would be best to use when I qualify to
teach are CLT in combination with TPR, because both encourage and motivate the
student to be interested in learning the language more with various activities.
Although direct method is mandatory in my opinion, as it has proven to be very
effective.
