BEFORE FIRE…
AT HOME
Ensuring that all fire alarms, sprinklers, and fire exits are in working condition.
Place school / office blueprints in every room or near main doorways.
Practice fire drills and instruction
Know how to use and where the fire extinguisher
Annually check establishment
DURING FIRE…
AT HOME
If possible and you are able to, extinguish the fire.
If the fire is already spreading, run for safety and immediately call for help.
To make your way through a fire, crawl beneath the smoke.
Avoid going into closed doors or rooms.
If your clothes catch fire, remember the to: stop, drop and roll.
AT SCHOOL / WORKPLACE
Remember to follow the designated evacuation plan.
Walk fast but maintain to be calm and orderly.
AFTER FIRE…
AT HOME
Check with the fire department to make sure your residence is safe to enter.
DO NOT attempt to reconnect utilities yourself.
Conduct an inventory of damaged property and items.
Contact your local disaster relief service or local government units if you need temporary
housing, food and medicines.
AT SCHOOL / WORK
DO NOT enter the building until the fire department or authorities deem it safe.
Contact family or guardians of your current status, immediately.
Check co-workers or classmates, head count if possible.
