WHAT TO DO…?

BEFORE FIRE…
AT HOME

 Unplug items you are not currently using.


 Never leave flames, such as candles or open stoves, unattended.
 Keep flammable items, such as matches, fuels, etc., away from heat sources.
 Turn of heated appliances before leaving the house.
 Check electronics and electrical wires frequently.
 Make sure to never block the doorway or exits.
AT SCHOOL / WORKPLACE

 Ensuring that all fire alarms, sprinklers, and fire exits are in working condition.
 Place school / office blueprints in every room or near main doorways.
 Practice fire drills and instruction
 Know how to use and where the fire extinguisher
 Annually check establishment

DURING FIRE…
AT HOME
 If possible and you are able to, extinguish the fire.
 If the fire is already spreading, run for safety and immediately call for help.
 To make your way through a fire, crawl beneath the smoke.
 Avoid going into closed doors or rooms.
 If your clothes catch fire, remember the to: stop, drop and roll.
AT SCHOOL / WORKPLACE
 Remember to follow the designated evacuation plan.
 Walk fast but maintain to be calm and orderly.

AFTER FIRE…
AT HOME
 Check with the fire department to make sure your residence is safe to enter.
 DO NOT attempt to reconnect utilities yourself.
 Conduct an inventory of damaged property and items.
 Contact your local disaster relief service or local government units if you need temporary
housing, food and medicines.
AT SCHOOL / WORK
 DO NOT enter the building until the fire department or authorities deem it safe.
 Contact family or guardians of your current status, immediately.
 Check co-workers or classmates, head count if possible.
