Four management functions the Tealive’s company?
Management functions are a systematic method of doing things. Management is
a process to emphasize that all managers, regardless of their skill or aptitude, engage in
some inter-related functions to achieve their desired objective. Planning, organizing,
leading, and controlling are basically the four primary functions of management. First,
planning is decision-making regarding the target and setting the future action from a set
of alternatives to achieve them. Planning is also a method of an organization define
their future action plan and determine the action and resources needed to achieve the
intended goal. Manager can make some plans such as business plans or marketing
plans to achieve the goal. The plan can be used as a guideline for activities and helps to
maintain management effectiveness. An effective planning must consider the influence
of internal and factors. For example, internal factors that affect planning are complicated
organization structure or limited growth opportunities for a company. Top manager of
Loob Holdings Sdn. Bhd, Bryan Loo is planning to change the names of Chatime
brands to Tealive brands. Furthermore, CEO Bryan Loo also plans to increase the
quantity of Tealive outlets to make Tealive branches widespread throughout Malaysia.

After that, organization involves determine how to organize and coordinate

resources and activities. Once the plan is made, the organization should allocate the
tasks to relevant departments and delegation of authority. In order for the work to
proceed smoothly and the organization to operate smoothly, the tasks should be
grouped together. Therefore, the organization create each department within the
company is to ensure that they can work together so that the progress will be more

employees that more than 1000 people. Furthermore, CEO Bryan Loo also can train his
worker from 50 to 100 people in a month on training excellence, which is something he

6
strives for all the time. Besides that, he organizes for his employees to keep comfortable

entrepreneurial journeys. Employees are also trained to be friendly in term to build good
relationship with customer to retain, create and attract new potential customer to be

team will guide new workers in kiosk or in-line store from A to Z consists of determining
what task are to be done.

Furthermore, leading is the third step to achieve an organization goals through

motivation, communication, encouragement towards employees to increase the
productivity. Leading is considered as the most important and challenging part because
it will affect the employees to work together with the interest of an organization.
Communication, motivation and direction are considered as a part of leading system.
The basic quality of leadership is to 7 motivate employees because it can influence
employee’s behavior based on understanding the reasons for maintaining human
behavior in particular commitment direction. As an example, CEO Bryan Loo has a cool
image and sociable character to communicate with his worker and he has amazing

managed a strong workforce of 2000 employees who serve over 5 million customers in
more than 400 outlets worldwide. Thus, Bryan Loo very care and focus on train workers

able to progress their career within the company while also giving newer employees the
opportunity to lead the company.

The fourth function in management process is controlling. controlling function that

include monitoring activities to ensure the tasks are completed as planned and any
major deviations are corrected. The activities consist of measure actual performance,
compare actual performance against standard and take managerial actions when there
is necessary to correct any deviations. As long as the results are found to be different
from the planned actions, the person in charge should take the responsibility and

7
necessary actions to improve performance. Controlling may be the last and most
important management function process as the result can be controlled by people's
behavior. In short, controlling enables the plan to be completed within a specific time.
CEO Bryan Loo and LOOB founder needs to control the activities of the organization so
that the actual performance is according to the standards that have been set and take
improvement actions to achieve organizational goals. Besides that, CEO Bryan Loo with
passion mentoring upcoming business talents, and he has expanded his food and
beverages empire from a start-up into a full- blown enterprise. Each production process
needs to be carefully made, controlled in detail and systematically to avoid problems
during the production process. This will have a better performance effect on LOOB
Holding. Next, comparing the result whether the organization’s goals are achieved or
not. If the process is not achieving the target, then improvements and corrections need
to be made. For example, Tealive uses the new technological support to reduce labor
costs. Besides that, it can also help the company to increase productivity and quality of
product.

Ten roles top manager perform in organization.

According to Mintzberg's findings and subsequent study, there are ten defined
roles of a manager in an organization that divide into three specific categories which are
decisional roles, informational roles, and interpersonal roles. Decisional roles are
concerned with events in which the manager must take appropriate action and make
decisions. These roles also necessitate both theoretical and human skills. Decisional
roles consist of entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator, negotiator. Bryan

The new product will be produced by LOOB Holding is their collaboration with other
F&B companies. He strives to improve his department and adapting to changing
environmental factors. Besides that, managers should always think about the new
ideas, start new projects and start development projects. Besides that, the disturbance
handler roles are managing disputes among colleagues or between the management's

9
department and other departments in organization. When corporation is confronted by
unforeseen problems, disturbance handler has to takes corrective action. In this case,

gives them 20% of the total revenue for La Kaffa. Thus, Bryan Loo wins in these
negotiations.

others excited as well about the secret of Tealive’s success.

Furthermore, Interpersonal roles are managerial roles that related to the

manager's actions, which is center around interpersonal interaction. Interpersonal roles
consist of individuals and subordinates outside the organization, as well as formal and
informal responsibilities. Interpersonal roles of a manager include figurehead, leader,
and liaison. The figurehead is that manager who wants to inspire people within the
organization to connected each other. Besides that, to the institution, to support the
policies and decisions made on behalf of the organization and to work harder for the
good of the institution. CEO Bryan Loo graduated as a biochemist student, but his joy is
to be an entrepreneur and opening his own company. Next, he also braves to taking
opportunity to expand his business by opening several branches. Although he has failed
in his business, he has a high spirit to bounce back into his business. After that, all
managers have a leadership role, Leader means that the responsibility for the work of
subordinates, motivating and encouraging employees, exercising their formal authority.
