Savouring the Exquisite Food Experience at Pizza
Express

Pizza express is a restaurant chain well known for its Italian style cooking. It was started in
the year 1965 in London. It has gained a reputation for its unique restaurant designs and also
been recognised abroad. There are numerous pizzas, pastas and salads on the menu.
Its commitment to it’s not quality and cooking techniques has contributed to its popularity. It
also offers people with vegan options. They also host live music performances which creates
a unique entertainment environment. They use authentic and very fresh ingredients. They also
have a wide variety of desserts in their menu.

VERBAL COMMUNICATION
I would like to start with the verbal communication that I observed in the restaurant. The
server first made the reservations, greeted us and asked for our phone number in a very polite
manner. Later on when we made the reservations the server escorted us to our respected table
which was a clear sign of good hospitality. As soon as we sat the server came and gave us a
choice between mineral and regular water. Then he provided us with the menu and explained
all the dishes and cuisines as per our doubts and gave us several recommendations to pick
among the best sellers. After that the server brought us our dishes and beverages that we
ordered and after a while without invading our privacy they asked if a refill for the beverages
was required. Later on when we finished our meal we requested the server for our bill. He
brought us the bill and asked whether we want to pay online or by cash. When we were
leaving the restaurant the server greeted us with a smile and requested us to fill a feedback
form and asked us to join them again.

NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION


The staff while making us enter the restaurant made a hand gesture and it was quiet a
warming gesture. As soon as we were about to sit, the server pulled out the seats for us. Then
later the server brought us the menu with a slight hand gesture showing us the whole menu
and then he stood beside our table with his hands in the front maintaining a proper body
language with a smile on his face. After a certain duration of time the server came to our
table to take our order. The timings of the services were great as it avoided the server to be
invasive and our privacy was maintained. When the server was taking our order he was
writing it down on his note pad and agreeing by nodding at every order we were placing.
Later the server placed cutleries on our table which were very hygienic and clean then he
filled the water glasses. After doing all this he instantly put himself away so that he doesn’t
invade our privacy. At the time of the payment he brought us the bill nodded slightly and kept
it on our table without making us feel rushed. When we were leaving the restaurant all the
staff members nodded and waved at us which was a very sweet gesture.
Conclusion
In conclusion my experience in the restaurant was great. All the staff members were very
polite and greeted us with all due respect. They were dressed in a proper uniform and had
etiquettes. The dishes were well presented. Overall the attentive and friendly staff interaction
contributed in creating a positive environment inside the restaurant. The servers kept a smile
on their faces every time they came near us to ask about anything. The quality of service and
communication both were up to the mark. It was a really impressive dining experience
altogether. The waiters were well trained about the what ingredients were used in each
delicacy and what was there chef special which showcases that they were aware and were on
toes with their restaurant’s menu on what was available and how it’s prepared.
