In today’s era the interaction between the elderly folk and their young mates ,other OLD PEOPLE is

declining drastically or in other words we can say that today they are not so socially interactive with
others as they were a few decades before. There are many major reasons behind this.

First of all is the evolution of technology and its increasing usage over the past few years. old people
doesn’t feel so comfortable with technology as the young generations do. People excluding the eldery
folk spend most of the time using gadgets ,scrolling through social media and what not but the common
thing in all these is the usage of technology. Because of this their distance from the old people is
increasing and day by day people are thinking of elderly folk to be a load for them and as a result
sending them to old age homes.

Another reason for this is increasing workload. busy youth of the society after finishing their ENTIRE
day’s chores,when sit to have their dinner they have mobile phone or television next to them instead of
family members.here they should sit with one another, know about their day and share their ideas but
instead of all this tthey are busy with gadgets. due to increasing workload their tension is increasing and
so their interaction is decreasing.people have to leave their hometown and their parent behind and
have to settle in other cities because of jobs. This also ones again decreases their interaction

Also due to increasing generation gap the mind set of the young generation as compared to that of the
elderly mates have changed a lot. Many such activities are performed by kids which shouldn’t be
performed at all according to the old people.this change in mind set also plays a major role in increasing
the distance between youngs and olds.

Now Talking about the present time the corona virus pandemic has also had a major impact on this.
Due to covid 19 many people can’t meet their family for a long period of time and many grandparents
cant see their grandchildren who are the light of their eyes.
