01 Inspection Check List

Check equipment is correctly tagged, easily readable and installed in accordance

with specifications.
Check that equipment is installed in accordance with project specification and

drawings and free from obstruction.
Check the location, elevation and orientation of the equipment is installed

correctly.
Confirm clearance around equipment is adequate for accessibility and

maintenance.
Visually inspect equipment for external damage, cleanliness, contaminants and
01.05
including paintwork.
Check equipment is correctly aligned, levelled, rigid and secured with correct
01.06 bolting and within minimum tolerances as per manufacturer’s specifications and
attach the flatness report.
Check that holding down arrangements are correct and shims undamaged, bolts
01.07 have been torqued in accordance with project specifications and attach the
torque tightening report.
Ensure the associate cables, auxiliary equipment and supported pipe lines
01.08
(including flexible) are fitted accordingly.
Check that there are no visible gaps between piping & fixed piping supports and
01.09
free from strain.
Check all gaskets are of the Correct type, bolts, nuts and washers in place and
01.10
tight and none are missing.
01.11 Confirm vibration mounting fitted securely and set to correct height.
Check that the equipment is earth bonded in accordance with the drawings and
01.12
specifications.
Check all piping, casing vent and drain lines have isolation valves fitted as per
01.13
drawings.
Check that motor/pump assembly correct, motor primed and vented, suction
01.14
strainer fitted and that the pump rotates freely by hand.
Check that all guards are fitted correctly and that the direction of rotation and
01.15
marking is correct.
01.16 Produce marked-up documents in accordance with installation where required.
Check seal and seal pot connections are installed correctly as per vendor
01.17
drawings
Check base plate drain pan connection lines are installed correctly as per
01.18
drawings.
01.19 Soft foot check has been performed where necessary.

01.20 Ensure Cooling lines are installed as per P&ID and vendor drawings

02 Reciprocating Pump / Positive Displacement Pump / Centrifugal Pump

Ensure that the filter/Strainer - Pressure rating is compatible to the line rating and

the direction of flow is correct.
02.02 Check pulsation dampers are fitted where applicable.

02.03 Check calibration pot are installed correctly and visible where applicable.

02.04 Check constant level oiler are fitted, filled and protected where applicable.

02.05 Check lube oil, seal oil and cooling system are correct as per design.

03 Vertical CAN Pump

03.01 Check position. Pump impeller height adjusted as per vendor requirements.

03.02 Check all guide bolting is secured by lock washers or check nuts.
Check correct number of riser spools in place, installed correctly. Spool faces are

undamaged and square.
03.04 Check riser spool mounts, gaskets and guides are installed and secured.

03.05 Check riser spool stud bolts are in accordance with specifications and all fitted.

03.06 Check spider restraints are correct to drawing.

03.07 Check delivery head flange to caisson is secure.

Check headroom for spool removal and that the Mechanical Handling equipment

is adequate for pump removal.
