First KASAPA Performance
Scene 1
(A seminarian who has having trouble trying to understand the value of sacrifice. He was having
trouble by the things that God wanted him to do. Seeing one of the priests doing some meditation
he peeps into the door of the room…)
(The seminarian peeks at the prayer room, the priest notice that this seminarian is deep in
thought)
Priest: (call on stage) Ano to noy? (Gestures to come) Dali di lakat di? (The priest ushered the
seminarian to sit down while the priest with his back to the seminarian.)
Seminarian: (The seminarian notice that the priest still clutches his rosary and the breviary is
still open) Padz, ano na ni oras, naga pangadi kapa japon?
Priest: (still his back to the seminarian and lighting the unlit candle on the altar) Ikaw haw?
Lights off niyo na. ngaa ari kapa di?
Seminarian: (Caught off guard of the priest sudden confrontation. Hesitantly shared what on
his mind and what burdens him) Padz, paano mag sakripisiyo? Nabudlayan ako mag
sakripisiyo. Mai mga bagay nga gina pa ubra sa akon pero hindi ko makaya kay bal – an
ko dako ang madula sa akon. Nabug – atan na ako mag hatag sang akon kaugalingon sa
pormasiyon. Pamatyagan ko padz mai kulang gid sa akon. Ano padz ang akon nga
ubrahon.
Priest: (As the seminarian shares his thought the priest slowly reclined to the adjacent chair)
Kabalo ikaw maghigugma? (The seminarian just stared blankly at the pries not knowing how
to respond) Kabati kaw sang estorya sang isa ka Bulahan nga gugma? Ang estorya sang isa
ka bulahan nga gugma nga dulot sang pagsakripisiyo.

(Fades out: Stage is emptied attention to the center aisle where there are two people walking
carrying dry woods and conversing)

Scene 2

Isaac: (He was confused because his father told him that they will offer sacrifice to the Lord but
they only brought firewood with them and there is no sign of a lamb to be slaughtered) Tay, abi
ko mahalad kita sa Ginoo, daw wala man ta inughatag sa iya. Nalimtan mo Tay? Daw naga
tigulang ka nagid haw? (jokingly)

Abraham: (Worried and a bit hesitant, he is hiding the truth from his son that, he is going to
sacrifice his blood for the Lord) Ah! Cge lang Nak ah, Si Lord lang ang ma provide sa aton
sang aton inughatag sa iya. (Ruffles the hair of his son)
Isaac: (a bit irritated) Pirme mo lang na nahambal tay, wala man ako may nakita, san – o
pa na ihatag sang Diyos sa aton?
(They continued in silence until they reach the altar to be consecrated by Abraham to be a fitting
place for the offering. As they are setting up the altar, placing fire woods for the burnt offering,
Abraham is stricken with grief)
Isaac: (Looking at the surroundings still no sign still of something to offer) Tay! Nahanda na
ang altar, pero wala japon atong nga inughalad, maano nalang kita sini Tay.
Abraham: (Satres deirectly at the eyes of his Son, ready the knife at his side. Holding the rope
and slowly bent over to Isaac and tide his hands together)

Isaac: (tears flowing from his eyes) Tay….

Abraham: (Crying with grief and sobs at each sentence) Anak, diri ka lang sa luyo ko.
Masakit man sa akon ang ining akon pagabuhaton, nga akong igahalad ang akong bugtong
nga Anak. Apang kung ini ang pag buot sang Mahal nga maka ako sino ako para mag
pamalabag sini. Nak, Palangga ko gid ikaw.
Isaac: (Strengthens his will because we cannot bear to see his father stricken with grief and in
pain) Tay, kung amo ni ang gusto sang Diyos para sa aton. Kag kung ako ang iya gusto nga
ipagahalad sa iya. Handa ako tay nga igaula ang akon dugo para sa iya. Tay palangga ko
gid ikaw

(Abraham raise his knife and was about to the cut his open when the Lord see this and shone his
radiant light upon them and said)

God: (voice over: off stage) Abraham, hindi pag higku – i ang imo kamot sang dugo sang
imo anak. Nakita kung ang ka bulahan ang imo pag palangga sa imo anak kag sa akon.
Gani, ako nga inyo Diyos, nakita ang pagka bulahan sang inyo pag sakripisyo.

(as the words of God fades, there was a sound of lamd nearby…)

EJ: baaaaaaaaaaaa!
(music sfx, soft and meditative, Abraham unfasten Isaac and help him up hug each other, said
their love for each other and ready the lamd to slaughter)
(fade return to Father and Seminarian)
Scene 3
(Seminarian in deep contemplation about the story)
Priest: (breaking the silence) Te? Nasabat na imo pamangkot kung ano ang kulang sa imo?
(smiles teasingly)
Seminarian: (relief and full of hope) Isa ka himpit kag bulahan nga gugma padz. Ang
gugma nga gina hatag sa tanan kag wala gina pilit. Ang bulahan nga gugma nga nagalikot
kag naga sakop sa tanan. Ang gugma nga naga hatag pag laom.
Priest: (affirms) Kag paagi sa gugma nga ina ikaw maka sakripisiyo. Maka pa bakod sang
imo handum sa pag serbisyo kag sa imo pormasiyon.

(Intone music and both sing….)
