Project Name: A Tech for A Dream: Empowering Digital Literacy

Introduction

When we open the door of learning, we unlock the future for each one of us.

Technology is all around us and permeates every aspect of our modern existence,

advances and innovations have made many of our daily tasks easier to accomplish and

have enriched our professional and personal lives. Learning is a process for success.

Knowledge is the main driving force of modern society, a source of power and

competitive advantages in work and life. Through the process of learning, a new

knowledge will evolve. It will be acknowledged and appreciated.

Digital literacy is the ability to access, manage, understand, integrate,

communicate, evaluate and create information safely and appropriately through digital

technologies (UNESCO Institute for Statistics, 2018). This literacy includes using

technology to evaluate, create and integrate information. However, not everyone is

literate enough to use social media platforms, online websites, and even applications

properly. And with that, some of them use it in the wrong way. There are things in

technology that not everyone could join to use them with proper manner.

Any kind of social platforms and application have different uses and purpose.

Moreover, users tend to forget or even struggle to catch up each navigation in that

specific platform or application. This project seeks to give a light of hope to those

students or individuals who are not digital literate. Also, this project wants to foster an

environment where the skills of everyone is valued. Lastly, this project will serve as an

instrument for everyone, to make them a digital literate.

Technology is all around us making our daily tasks easier and has become

another way to communicate with people in the world. As we empower digital literacy to

those who are not digital literate, they will have the ability to access, manage,

understand, integrate, communicate, evaluate, and create information safely and

appropriate through technology. This literacy can guide and enrich their knowledge on

how to use technology properly and appropriately for their professional and personal

lives.
Nowadays, with the 21st century generation of individuals, most were already

digital literate. However, individuals who are digital illiterate are still prevalent in these

times. With the envisioned mission this project has, a way to let students or individuals

learn and make them a digital literate will be possible. We, the volunteers will use our

manpower to work together by providing the basic knowledge and skills of being a

digital literate. Such as, creating a PowerPoint Presentation, and knowing the

differences and uses of each platform as well as determining right actions to take in the

digital world.

The team with each member who are confident in their skills as digital literates

will do their utmost best to share and teach their knowledge to other individuals. So that,

everyone who have less skills will be able to learn and use it in their everyday lives, in

this current generation as well as in the future. Lastly, helping each other become a

digital literate in this time is crucial and will create a great environment.

Overall, being a digital illiterate was a big deal in today’s generation. For the

reason that, we are all surrounded with technology. Our lives now revolve in the digital

related things, however knowing the basics of it would make a huge change. And with

that, this project would be a great way. Making each individual of Lorenzo S. Sarmiento

Sr. National High School start gaining knowledge and show off their ability to be a digital

literate. Throughout this session, a new knowledge and skills will be unlocked and

brought up.

Purpose

The purpose of “A tech for a dream” is to provide proper learning to those who

are still not digital literate enough in Lorenzo S. Sarmiento Sr. National High School.

Empowering Digital Literacy makes use of technology to provide knowledge and making

it accessible for both students, instructors and staff who are not computer proficient. By

providing this for them, we may share our expertise with regard to fundamental

computer tasks like creating documents and ppts.

Learning is a vital human right, and by making this available to them, we can

ensure that all students, as well as the instructors and staff at Lorenzo S. Sarmiento Sr.

National High School has background or access to the basic computer activities.
Learning computer basics and programming is crucial for everyone since it equips them

with the knowledge, abilities, and mindsets they need to thrive in school and in their

future employment, especially students. Empowering Digital Literacy can be essential

for them to Learn increasingly complex computer concepts and applications, as required

by a corporation, is made simpler by having a solid understanding of computers as a

basis.

In summary, by providing a safe and nurturing space for them. It ignites a spark

within their hearts, reminding them that their dreams are valid, their potential is

immense, and they are not alone on their journey. Through learning, emotional support,

and a sense of belonging. Empowering Digital Literacy unlocks doors to a brighter

future and offers them the tools they need to lead fulfilling lives. Let us continue to

embrace this purpose with unwavering commitment, knowing that everyone, regardless

of their circumstances deserves the chance to thrive and find their purpose.
