conducting research entitled “Unspoken Pleas: Unravelling the Journey of Senior

(Focus Group Discussion)

Introduction
Thank you for coming. We are grateful that you all signed up and came
here to be part of the focus group discussions. Please be aware that your
participation will simply involve answering questions which will focus on your
cultural practices and its preservation. It is hoped that the valuable information
you will provide on the matter will help us make this educational endeavor
successful.
This discussion is confidential – We won’t be associating your names with
what you say here- which means we would like everyone to use first names only
today. We will be recording the discussion so that we will be able to remember
what we will hear. Your responses will be held in utmost confidentiality and no
one else will have access to the information you will provide including that of
your identity and other personal information.
We would like to assure you that there will be no risks to you as a result of
your participation in this study and that there will be no negative consequences,
you can decide at any time to withdraw or not answer any of the questions we
will ask.
Finally, please feel free to ask any questions about the procedure at any
time during the interview.
We will be grateful if you answer each question as thoroughly and as
specifically as possible. Personal stories and examples are preferred as well as
any additional information that you may feel is relevant.

challenges faced by students with single parents?

They clarified 1) that many participation in this study will involve answering
questions during face-to-face interview which will focus on my actual experiences
of being a senior high school student with single-parent households; 2) that the
information obtained in these questionnaires in expected to provide valuable
information on the matter which may help address problems that may result from
cheating; 3) that there are no expected risks to me as a result of participation in
this study; and 4) that there is no financial compensation for my participation.
They have also explained to me that my participation in this study is voluntary
and that there will be no negative consequences to me if I choose not to
participate. They have also explained to me that any information I provide will be
kept confidential.
In addition, they also made it clear to me that the interview will only be audio
recorded with my consent and approval and therefore will respect my decision if I
prefer no voice recording of the interview.
