COMPARATIVE TEST RESULTS IN DIAGNOSTIC

AND SUMMATIVE TESTS

Testing is a part of learning, and lets learners “show what they know” and what
they can do.

Test and evaluation are considered indeed necessary within any properly-
functioning education system. When instructors want to gain insight into what
their learners have understood and plan for instruction guides, they will test and
evaluate their learners.

Test and evaluation play a significant role in how pupils learn, what motivates
both the learners and teachers, and how teachers teach.

This comparative analysis on the Mean Percentage Scores (MPS) results of Grade
One to Six classes for School Year 2021-2022 in Nagpalangan Elementary
School showed that there is a significant improvement between the Diagnostic
Tests and Summative Tests given. MPS is not for compilation only. The results
can be used for decision making in lesson delivery enhancements, learning
resources utilization and school improvement plan and adjustment.

Therefore, the main way to evaluate teachers and pupils performance in schools
today is by conducting Summative tests at the end of the school year. They allow
learners, teachers, and entire schools to be compared across the nation. These
tests help to make sure standards are met as well as creating new standards as
new information comes in.

Attached documents are samples of Diagnostic Tests and Summative Tests
