8.4.3. AD1 Fast grinding wheel raising/lowering - SD8211EF no. control panel
The work table is moved longitudinally by the hydraulic system. The speed range of the work table is
2 ÷ 25 m/min. The movement speed is less than 10 m/min only when positioning the workpieces. The
average grinding speed is greater than 10 m/min.
– After the first oil change, it is mandatory to change the hydraulic oil and clean the hydraulic
system once a year.
– Do not mix clean and used hydraulic oil, because the mixed oil is not only of lower quality, but
also has a weaker lubrication effect.
3. Check the oxidation and aging of the hydraulic oil as follows
finally:
– Drop a drop of oil on a filter paper.
– If the color of the oil on the filter paper is light yellow, it means that the oil is still usable. If the
color is dark, change the oil immediately.
4. Worktable vibration – If air
enters the hydraulic system, it will cause the worktable to jerk
to result.
If there is not enough hydraulic oil in the tank (the level indicator shows less than half the
amount), then air is sucked into the system and the table vibrates.
To remove the sucked-in air, move the work table slowly over the entire stroke length of
approx. for 30 minutes.
– The work table also vibrates if the pressure in the hydraulic system is too high.
5. The design of the hydraulic system changes according to the wishes of the customer.

9. LEVELING THE MACHINE
Leveling the machine tool is an extremely important task not only from the point of view of the accuracy of the
machine, but also of the workpiece. Consequently, the use of a spirit level is strongly recommended. The final
accuracy should be at least 0.02 mm/m considering a length of 200 mm for leveling.
3. Turn the leveling screws on the adjustment plates A and B until the bubble of the horizontal level is in the
middle position (transverse reference point) of the level.
4. By turning the leveling screws on the AC adjustment plates, reach so that the bubble of the perpendicular
level is in the middle position (longitudinal reference point) of the leveler.
5. Move the levels on the worktable to right and left positions to compare cross and longitudinal reference
points. The allowable error of the flatness of the work table in both directions should be equal to or less
than the following values: 0.02/1000 mm - at a distance below 1000 mm, and 0.035/1000 mm - at a
distance between 1000 ÷ 2000 mm.

Note: 1. When the machine is placed on the foundation for the first time, it may not have been permanently
fixed and this may cause the machine to temporarily lose its initial level. Therefore,
clean the machine weekly. After using the machine for three months, check the
leveling every month and carry out readjustment, or carry out leveling immediately
if the accuracy of the workpiece does not reach the required value.
2. We recommend that you re-grind the surface of the work table or the electromagnetic

4. For the subsequent installation of the wheel, again arrange the disc balancing weights equally
(approximately 120°) along the circumference of the lock nut.
Note: 1. Before installation, carefully check the grinding wheel by tapping.
2. For flexible torque transmission, place two paper washers between the disc and the
clamping flange on each side of the grinding disc.
3. Gradually tighten the screws securing the clamping flange diagonally with a wrench,
after one tightening movement, tighten the next screw.
4. Wet sanding can damage the paper pad, so it needs to be sanded again
drive the diagonal tightening of the fixing screws.
The well-balanced disc ensures excellent machining accuracy and a longer service life of the grinding
disc, grinding spindle and bearings.
1. Choose a grinding wheel that meets your machining requirements.
2. Before starting machining, check the disc for cracks with the "ring sound test" (see Fig. 14 a). Never
use a cracked grinding wheel!

Before use, inspect the grinding wheel for cracks on its surface.
After the visual inspection, make sure that the grinding wheel is in good condition with a "ring sound test".
1. Ringtone test
Figure 14
– For smaller and lighter discs, the examiner should insert a finger or a small wooden stick into the
hole of the disc and tap the disc with a screwdriver or plastic rod (Figure 14a).
– Tap points should form an angle of 45° with the diagonal, away from the center
their width should be 25 mm, as shown in 14b. is illustrated in Fig.
– For larger and heavier wheels, use a simple rigid bar or board to test the disc. The tapping points
are illustrated in figure 14c.
– A ceramic or glass-bonded grinding wheel in good condition produces a clear and sharp sound
when tapped; a faulty disc makes a dull sound.
– Resin-bonded grinding wheels do not produce as clear and sharp a sound as the
discs in good condition.
– Before grinding, make sure that the machine operator understands all safety rules related to
grinding wheels.

12. ADJUSTMENT OF THE DIRECTIONAL LEVER
If the working table of the machine moves to the extreme position in one direction and the hydraulic system
cannot return it from there, it means that the L2 directional lever has moved from its original position and
therefore its position must be readjusted. The setup steps are as follows:
1. Mark the point where the L2 arm stopped, then loosen the L5 set screw.
2. Loosen lever L2 as shown in part d of Figure 15.
3. Turn the L2 lever in the opposite direction to the position of the work table (ie, if the work table is on the
left side, turn the L2 lever to the right).
4. Tighten the L5 set screw and turn on the hydraulic system. At the same time, slowly push the L2 lever in
a clockwise direction until the worktable starts moving at the lowest speed. If the L2 arm is in the
correct position, the work table will move continuously. Otherwise, the L2 lever must be adjusted
again.
Note: While the work table is moving, do not touch the direction change lever with your hand or any other
device.

14. THE ELECTROMAGNETIC TABLE
The electromagnetic table is a mandatory accessory of the surface grinder. The surface of the
electromagnetic table fitting to the work table must be completely flat; otherwise, the work table will be
deformed due to the high magnetic force. Before mounting on the work table, the mating surface of the
electromagnetic table must be ground as follows.
1. The bottom plane of the electromagnetic table must be ground perfectly flat with great care.
Place the electromagnetic table upside down on the work table, but do not clamp it down.
Place stops on both sides to prevent it from moving. Grind with wet grinding, maximum coolant yield
and minimum cutting to avoid overheating and resulting surface deformation.
Attention! Never switch the electromagnetic table off and on again while grinding!
2. Apply grease to both the ground upper surface of the work table and the lower surface of the
electromagnetic table so that they do not get dirty during clamping. Only create a very thin layer of
lubrication between the surfaces so as not to affect assembly accuracy.
3. Attach the electromagnetic table to the work table.
4. Perform the rough grinding of the upper surface of the electromagnetic table in the same way as the
grinding of its lower plane, but the electromagnetic table must be fixed in a different way.
5. Switch on the electromagnetic table, then perform smooth grinding of its upper surface with a grip of
0.005 mm.
6. Carry out a sparking process without cutting teeth, passing the grinding disc over the surface of the
electromagnetic table two or three times.
