4th Grade Art Homework and Syllabus

Homework Assignment for the first grading period. Choose an object or
creature to draw. Mine is a ___________________________________.
Each week you will draw the same object using a different method,
medium or style. The goal is to become better at drawing but also
more confident and less concerned about what to draw rather than the
actual process. Trust me!!! After 8 weeks of drawings we will put these
art pieces together to create your own collage or portfolio.
If you are absent the day of art class you will still be responsible for
turning in your drawing. I will collect the drawings each week until we
have a collection of 8 pieces of artwork.
Week #1 – Draw your object with PENCIL only.
Week #2 – Draw your object than color with crayons.
Week #3 -- Draw your object with a background. Add color of your
choice.
Week #4 – Draw your object in motion, even if it’s an inanimate object.
Week #5 – Use a medium you haven’t tried before like chalk, oil pastels,
paint, or sharpie markers. You decide?
Week #6 –Add lots of detail to your object, even if it’s unrealistic.
Perhaps fill your object using many lines and patterns.
Week #7 –Draw your object several times on your paper to create an
appealing piece of art work!
Week #8—Oh, whatever will you decide to do for your last drawing????
