Gender Equality

Gender equality means that all people have the same rights, resources and
opportunities regardless of their gender identity and are treated with the
same respect in all aspects of our daily lives: work, health, education.
Gender equality is based on recognizing that women and black people
have been discriminated against throughout history, and it is necessary to
act now to take the necessary measures to eliminate historical inequalities
and reduce the gap between men and women, thus laying the foundations
for effective gender equality. The inequality suffered by most women can
be aggravated by factors such as age, race, sexual orientation and
socioeconomic status.
Well also, however, men and women must be treated equally, but access
to opportunities and the exercise of rights does not depend on the gender
of the people. Equal opportunities must directly affect the effective
exercise of women's rights.
Therefore, in effect, gender equality means changing the environment that
prevents women from fully exercising their rights and obtaining
opportunities and eliminating the disadvantages of women in daily life
due to inequality.
To be widely represented in public life, both men and women must enjoy
full equality in the exercise of political and economic power, they must
fully participate in the decision-making process at the national and
international levels on equal terms to achieve equality, development and
peace.
Social inequality: consequences for the
future

When examining the consequences of social inequality, it must be stated

that this not only translates into inequality of income and income, but also
other factors. Let's see some of them:
Immigration and forced displacement. Marginalization and exclusion are
two of the main reasons why people decide to leave their homes and go in
search of a better life. Hence the high migratory flows to the most
developed areas of the world, for example, Europe or the United States.
When the main reason for it is wars, it is called forced displacement.
Excluding certain social groups generates an increase in poverty rates.
With fewer resources and opportunities to climb the social pyramid,
disadvantaged people are condemned to occupy a secondary or tertiary
rank in societies.
Malnutrition and food crises. The limited purchasing power is
immediately reflected in income and, above all, in issues such as the type
of food. Contexts marked by poverty are the ideal breeding ground for
problems such as malnutrition and, in the most acute cases, food crises. It
is not strange, then, that the poorest countries in the world are the last in
the lists of food well-being.
One of the fundamental rights that is affected in contexts of social
inequality is education, something that in turn generates a type of society
with less access to knowledge and less aware of the role of its citizens.
Education is a direct synonym of opportunities, development,
entrepreneurship and improvement tools.
Since ancient times, human beings have searched for a way to seek
equality, in which each individual in society is involved, through respect
for each other. That is why it is very important to reduce the rates of
discrimination by gender.
Gender equality is not only a fundamental right, but the necessary basis
to achieve a prosperous and equitable world, it is also essential for the
sustainable development of society.
We as a society must put an end to all forms of discrimination, regardless
of gender or where the traditions and customs of others come from, we
must be fair for the simple fact that we are all equal.
Without equality we can face situations of violence, abuse and unequal
treatment both in our homes and throughout our environment.
Equality allows both women and men to develop all their capacities and
make their decisions without the limitations imposed by gender roles and
stereotypes; equality contributes to the development of the autonomy of
all people in the personal and social sphere; promotes co-responsibility in
citizens.
We must fight to obtain sustainable development in which equality
policies are promoted that allow equal opportunities between the
genders. As a conclusion, I think that gender equality is the fundamental
tool in society, where rights and opportunities are respected as a means of
improving coexistence and prejudices for each person's environment.
And I also believe that we as young people must become great
generations that encourage our future children or children, so that we all
have the same opportunities regardless of whether we are men or women,
and not judge anyone, it is very important to always be equal regardless
of where we come from, our social class, our skin color, etc.
