Hi class,

Today we are going to talk about a reality in our world that challenge the
whole society : the social inequality. This is a complex and debatable
topic, that affect people from all over the world, regardless of their origins
and circumstances.

The social differences means, basically, the disparity of resources and

opportunities between the various groups and individuals of the society.
They are present in different areas, as the access to the education, the
heath care, the food and other services. Normally, this inequality is the
result of historic, economics, politics a nd cultural events, and represents,
for sure, a challenge for the ones that defend a more fair and stable
society.

One of the main causes of social divergences is the different economic

power between the different individuals. In many countries, we can verify
that only a small portion of the population own, actually, wealth, unlike the
most part of the population, that lives in bad conditions, and sometimes,
inhumane. This differences in this resource distribution, accentuate, the
social and economic disparities, which the rich people have access to
better opportunities, for example in health care and employment, however
the poorest ones fights to beat the difficulties of the lack of resources.

In addition, social inequality is also evident in the lack of access to basic

services such as education. In the most disadvantaged regions, there is a
huge lack of adequate materials and poorly trained teachers in most
schools, contributing to limited access to quality education. Then,
inequality is accentuated when the needy people of the population are
prevented from having access to this education, necessary to break the
so-called "cycle of poverty".

Similarly, disparity in access to health care is probably one of the cruelest

forms of social inequality. Underprivileged people often face difficulties in
obtaining basic medical care, which leads to a decrease in the health of
the population and a consequent increase in mortality. In this way, the
lack of access to quality health services affects the poorest groups,
contributing more to the existing inequalities.
In addition, another relevant aspect of this social discrepancy is
discrimination and social exclusion based on characteristics such as
gender, race, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. These forms of
discrimination prevent many individuals from having the same
opportunities and rights as others.

All these reasons create a kind of social gap that complicated the
development of a society, and once again prevents the poorest from
breaking the so-called cycle of poverty.

So, obviously, the effects of social inequality are really serious and affect
each one of us. This can create an environment of violence, exclusion
and social instability. Moreover (As well), the lack of opportunities for the
poorest results in a waste of individual qualities that could contribute to
the progress and well-being of society, in general.

Therefore, it is essential that everyone unites to confront social inequality.

Through certain measures such as investing in quality education and
health, as well as allowing access to basic resources, especially in less
privileged areas, it will be possible to reduce social differences.

Another extremely important measure is to try to combat discrimination

and develop respect for social diversity, through the awareness of the
population and the implementation of anti-discrimination campaigns, in
order to eliminate stereotypes. It is, also essential to promote the
participation of undervalued groups in the political and economic life of
the various communities.

Individually, it is also our responsibility to fight inequality, through simple

actions such as respect and dialogue.

In conclusion, in my opinion, social inequality is a really complex

challenge that affects a lot our society, strongly impact all people.
However, although it is difficult, we must adopt habits and fight against
this problem together. Only through this collective effort it will be possible
to achieve a more inclusive and fair society, and a better world, which all
people have the same opportunities and a dignified life.
