COMPASS 2 INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS

Windows 10 & 11 Limitation

IIS supports a max of 10 Browser Sessions
This could be 10 tabs open by one user
Or multiple tabs opened by multiple users
To avoid this limitation consider installing
Compass 2 onto a Windows Server OS

 INSTALLING COMPASS 1 AND
COMPASS 2 ON TECH LAPTOP
1. Install Compass 1.6.5 First

2. Install Compass 2.0 Second

3. MS-SQL Express databases must

have unique names

4. Use Config tool to select which

version to run, use ‘Verify/Fix’

5. Refer to Appendix J of the

Compass IUG

COMPASS TECH LICENSE

1. Alerton Dealers will not need to buy new Tech licenses for Compass 2.
2. The existing COMPASS-1-TECH license is compatible with both Compass 1 and
Compass 2.
3. You will need to update your COMPASS-1-TECH license for use with Compass 2
by downloading a new COMPASS-1-TECH license.
4. COMPASS-1-TECH license will support EASE in Compass 2, but not in Compass 1.
5. Compass 2 can be installed on an Alerton Dealer’s laptop along with Compass 1;
however, only one version can be running at a time.
