Why do you like Arsenal Football Club?

One doesn't simply love the club based on the trophies/accolades they have won, there’s
more to the North London club than it meets the eye.

I do like Arsenal cause of many reasons. Few i would like to point out..

Arsene Wenger

Love him or hate him, there is no denying that he has changed the face of the club since
he took charge 22 years ago. He won 3 league titles, 7 FA cups during his service, but
most importantly he changed the way arsenal played football. Of all the managers, he
was among the few who were always loyal to financial fair play. If not for wenger i highly
doubt that many fans would pick Arsenal.

Style of play.

Arsenal always played open and expansive style of football under wenger. Once derided
as “boring boring arsenal”,( Even few movies like ‘the full monty’, ‘plunkett & macleane’
mocked arsenals defence), they came long way from there. Now, its a style of play
characterized by rhythmic passing and movement, maintaining the possession.

Oh, i just doesn't mean stadium, but also the fans in it. The singing, chanting of players
name’s( O santi cazorlaaaaa….. my favorite) and the constant roar of their anthems. You
have to give it to the English fans for their passion towards the game. (Apart from
hooliganism).

Dennis Berkamp

Yep, its Bergkamp, not King Henry. His technical ability and awareness are present only
in an elite few of every generation. His flick around newcastle player to score a goal in
2002 still gives me goosebumps. He has the ability to dictate the tempo of the game. His
first touch deserves its own wing in a hall of fame. His sublime touch and creative ability
helped him to beat defenders easily. He can easily play as lone striker, second striker or
attacking midfielder. Such is his adaptability.

Youth academy

When it comes to the team, signings are a great way to improve the squad both in terms
of quality and depth. However it will be a great joy to see a product of clubs academy to
break into first team and gains importance. It is one of the most important philosophy
followed by few clubs.

And of course the “invincibles era”

Yeah, i know that i said one shouldn't judge club based on their accolades, but this isn’t
too little to ignore. Arsenal are the only team to go undefeated in a premier league
season in modern era of English football.Its has been a joy to watch Henry, bergkamp,
pires and vieira tore the opponents defense.

And as Rounak niranjan pointed out in his answer you will start loving a club, when you
find their principles and values similar to yours.
