Engineering

Tashobya Innocent has finished his degree program in Bachelor of Science in Water and
Irrigation Engineering at Makerere University. He is a passionate, self-willed individual who
is ambitious and charismatic about reforming himself and his local community through work.

During his time as a student at Makerere, he served as the finance minister for the
MasterCard Foundation Scholar’s association at Makerere that championed a scholar’s
initiative giveback project that saw the construction of a classroom block and PIT latrines at a
primary school in Agago district.

Tashobya is a learner who is adaptive, self-aware, relentless and very curious and that’s his
natural passion. Tashobya is currently the undertaking his graduate training at Agromax
Uganda an agribusiness specializing in most of the aspects concerning water as a resource.

For him, improving the accessibility of water to farmers is a top priority since he has raised in
Uganda’s dry corridor in Sembabule District. Hoping to improve water usages that will help
farmers in Uganda’s agriculture become more resilient to the ongoing climate changes isn't
something he pursues but rather, seemingly his destiny even when he tries to stubbornly pull
away from it at times.

Tashobya thinks we can only bring about the better version of Africa we imagine for
ourselves if we rethink our methods of transforming leadership, education and sports. He is
inspired to invest in agriculture by being a value addiction participant and coordinating how
other fields such as science and technology have their contributions amplified significantly to
the rapidly expanding economies of the country.
