T he very first word that can be spelled from within the
word "museum".
The last 5 months have been challenging, and the
immediate horizon is unclear. But the
indomitable work ethic and innovative nature of
my fellow writers, the great importance of
collections and exhibitions, and the shared vision
and goal to bring forth the new edition of the
Illuminati have propelled us forward when many
have slowed or quieted.
When the health risks of Covid 19 died down, the
committee gathered to determine online and
offline projects. We referred to them as "Tubs".
1 tub of work can, with little effort, be done easily
remotely or in the museum. In late April it became
uniform, for most, to work at the museum since
the school was now open.
There was plenty of important work that had to
be done that required us to begin working
together in new and creative ways. While a lot of
the efforts happened behind the scenes, the staff
made a herculean pivot to place our Museum
programs and current special digitalization
project of the artifacts first so that they can be
admired from all around the globe.
In particular, I would like to acknowledge the
efforts of our creative team, who have done a
fantastic job of designing this edition and bringing
our vision to life. Their commitment to excellence
is evident in the stunning visuals and layout of the
magazine.
I am truly grateful to be working with such a
talented and dedicated team of individuals, who
have shown unwavering commitment to
producing a magazine that is both informative
and entertaining. I hope that you will enjoy
reading this edition as much as we have enjoyed
creating it.
To return to “us,” please let me take a moment to
thank the Museum Curator and Caretaker
_________ __________________ for their goodwill
and good work. They rarely receive enough credit
for their innumerable efforts to give our cultural
institution life while their own lives are full to
overflowing due to the aftereffects of the
pandemic. The collective story of “us” is not
unique, but it is our story, and the organization
has continued to advance despite the problems.
Please join me in thanking all those who have
contributed to “us” at your Museum. We move
forward and upward in the hope of a fantastic
2023!
