Learning Goal: By the end of this term students will be
performing in small groups a small drama performance
displaying how they can use their bodies and different forms of
verbal and non-verbal communication to display emotions
and feelings.

Refresh what we did in drama last week

- How we can show our emotions and feelings through
our bodies and non-verbal communication (mime)

This week we will continue using our bodies to show display our
emotions and feelings but to build on our learning we will now
also be acting out different scenarios through mimes.

Students will be in small groups practising miming out different

scenarios individually to their groups – from here students will
be given one bigger scenario that they will need to work
together to act out for the class to guess.

If students have been working well at the end of the lesson we

can play Pirate, Dragon, Unicorn, Freeze.

WEEK 8
THE ARTS *Mindfulness* - relaxing on the floor for 5 minutes. Interactive whiteboard
(Lesson 5)
1:30 – 2:20 Drama Mindfulness music

We will go through what we did last week in drama and Different scripted
discuss how this is important for actors to use their whole body scenarios to practice
to represent how and what they are feeling. acting out

Today we will still be using our facial expressions and bodies to

convey what we are trying to say or show but we now will be
adding in words because so far we have just been practising
this through miming.

I will discuss with the students how we need to use our voices
and vocal expressions (to fit the characters we are playing or
how they are feeling) but this does not mean that our voice
projection is us yelling, rather we are using different tones of
voice.

We will also discuss that when we are acting we might be

acting out something that is funny, it is important to make sure
that we keep acting out our scene and not being silly or
laughing even if the audience is laughing.

- group scenario acting add words (groups of 3 or 4)

practising incorporating everything we have been
doing over the last couple of days.
Pack up students at 2:15 – drink bottles and reader folders in
bags ready to go straight home after pe.
