Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) under PEC Act-1976 is pursuing professional

development of engineers leading towards international recognition and cross border
opportunities for the engineering professionals.

Under Professional Development of Engineers Byelaws-2008, acquiring CPD

points (seminars, workshops, short courses, research papers etc.) and Engineering
Practice Examination (EPE) are two mandatory requirements for the elevation of
"Registered Engineer (RE) to "Professional trngineer (PE)". As per PEC Act, the "PE"
has privitege over 'tRE" in terms of independently signing desrgns and preference
for higher levels leading towards international licencing and practice.
It is therefore mandatory to ensure above requirements of PEC Act by placing/
appointment of only Professional Engineers (PEs) against posts involving technical
sanci.ons/ design ap:rovals in both government and orivate sectors.

ln this regar{, 16th EPE (Fa1!-2020) witl be held on 25th October 2020 (Sunday)
simultaneously in i'ive major cities (lslamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta and Karachi).
The application forms, details and guidelines are available on PEC website

It is, therefore, requested to kindly inform all the Registered Engineers (REs)
