In the first quarter, I focus on building a strong foundation in language

proficiency, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. I incorporate
various activities that cater the different learning styles and abilities. For example,
I assign pupils tasks that involve reading and analyzing short stories or poems by
Filipino authors. They could need to identify literary devices, summarize the texts,
and express their interpretations orally or through written responses. By engaging
these activities, pupils enhance their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and
expressive language skills.

During the second quarter, my learner-centered approach shifts towards

developing pupil’s writing skills. I guide them through the writing process, from
brainstorming and planning or drafting, revising or editing. I provide models to
illustrate different writing styles and genres, and I encourage pupils to express their
creativity and voice in their writing. Through peer collaboration and feedback,
pupils learn to reflect on their own writing and make improvements. I also
incorporate grammar and language conventions instruction within the writing
process to reinforce effective communication skills.

Moving into the third quarter, my learner- centered philosophy focuses on

developing effective speaking and listening skills. I create opportunities for pupils
to engage in meaningful discussions, and presentations. Through small group
activities, debates, and role plays, pupils practice articulating their thoughts, active
listening and respectful communication. I also integrate multimedia resources and
technology tools to enhance their presentation skills and digital literacy.

In the fourth quarter, I aim to develop critical thinking skills through the
study of literary texts. I select age-appropriate novels, short stories, and poetry that
align with pupil interests and address relevant themes. Through the close reading,
analysis and discussions, pupils explore literary elements, such as characterization,
plot, and symbolism. I encourage them to make connections between the text and
