Marriage
- Matrimonial covenant by which man and woman establish between
themselves a partnership of the whole life and which is ordered by its
nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education
of the offspring.
Sexuality
- Fundamental component of personality, one of its modes of being, of
manifestation, of communicating with others, of feeling, of expressing
and of living human life.
The Sixth Commandment: “You shall not commit adultery.”
Chastity
- The successful integration of sexuality within the person thus the inner
unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being.
Offenses against Chastity:
Lust – is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure.
Masturbation – deliberate stimulation of genital organs to derive sexual
pleasure.
Fornication – carnal union between an unmarried man and an unmarried
Pornography – removing real or stimulated sexual acts from the intimacy of
the partners in order to display them deliberately to third parties.
Prostitution – does injury to the dignity of the person who engages in it,
reducing the person to an instrument of sexual pleasure.
Rape – is the forcible violation of the sexual intimacy of another person.
Offenses Against the Dignity of Marriage:
Adultery – marital infidelity, when partners, with one who is married, have
sexual relations, even transient ones.
Divorce – a grave offense, claims to break the contract, to which the spouses
freely consented, to live with each other till death.
Incest – intimate relations between relatives or in-laws within a degree that
prohibits marriage between them.
The Eight Commandment: “You shall not bear false witness against your
neighbor.”
What does the 8th commandment forbid?
False witness and Perjury – telling something untruth after taking an oath or
affirmation.
Blasphemy – an act or offense of speaking sacrilegiously about God or sacred
things.
