Authentic Assessment Planning Template

Foundations of Special Education: Understanding and Supporting Diverse Learners

For every assignment in your course except discussion board forums, please fill out the title,
purpose, parameters, and prompt sections as seen below. Delete any tables that are unnecessary
or copy and paste a new table if you have more than two assignments in a weekly module.

You must include at least two total authentic assessment pieces and accompanying rubrics
within your online course development plan over the span of eight weeks.

Please create a rubric for each assignment and include these rubrics as separate attachments in
the assignment submission area within Blackboard. Please explore the Authentic Assessment
Planning Checklist as well as the sample rubrics provided as you are creating these assessment
pieces and accompanying rubrics.

Assignment Title Intro to Scottsboro boys Essay


Purpose/Goal The purpose of this week 1 module is to introduce participants to the
To Kill a Mockingbird content. I am starting with the Scottsboro
boys’ case because it’s a relate table case content wise. When talking
about injustice.
Parameters Format: Written essay
Length: 600 words
Citations: Use at least three credible sources (APA or MLA citation
style)
Submission: Submit the assignment through the online learning
platform by the specified deadline.
Prompt In this assignment, you will delve into a case that changed a nation.
This case is a historical case that is still talked about present day to to
the horrific injustice that was done on to 9 young African American

Purpose/Goal The purpose of this assignment is to deepen students' understanding
of racial injustice in Alabama, Bias, and prejudice.

Presentation Format: Students will deliver a 7 -minute group
presentation using multimedia tools (slides, videos, etc.) to illustrate
their findings.
Prompt With your group you are to research the history of racial injustice in
Alabama. You can find cases or factual events that display the
prejudice of the state’s history.
