Reflection

My experiences visiting museums have always been pleasant. Seeing the memorabilia of the past in

person is a lovely and refreshing experience. The Provincial Capitol Site in Batangas City is the location of the

Batangas Museum. It is a location that highlights the Batanguenos spirit that has influenced the country's

politics, economy, society, and disciplines of the arts and sciences via the preservation and exhibition of

Batangas artifacts and antiques. It allows people to learn more about what Batanguenos are capable of, not only

in Batangas but across the country or maybe the entire world.

The people in charge of the museum welcomed us as soon as we walked inside. I can tell that the

museum was beautifully preserved and is currently in good condition. We enthusiastically explore the first

room. The "diwang Batangueno," which is made up of "Kagandahan," located in the first room. Their excellent

nature, active lifestyle, and particular regard and appreciation of their tradition, community, and culture are also

evident, in addition to their physical appearance. Second on the list is ‘katalinuhan’, Batanguenos possess

intelligence based on different aspects that is shown inside the room lead by Apolinario Mabini. The third

attribute is called "kagitingan," which refers to having a firm and unwavering faith in the face of any tragedy.

Next comes "Katapangan," which involves both the battlefield and congress in addition to simply

demonstrating one's power. The final, but certainly not least, is kasipagan. Despite the advancement of

technology and the rise of novel methods of work, Batanguenos have never lost the value of following

traditional procedures and displaying diligence.

We are able to see a hallway filled of fascinating paintings after leaving the room. The museum's

individuals explain everything to us one by one by one. Every artwork is different and contains a variety of

deep messages, which interests me. It is a well-crafted work of art made by a Batangas artist using simply a

brush, paint, oil or water, and a canvas. Before moving on to the second room, known as "bulwagang Subli," I

got the opportunity to see several stunning and captivating works of art. It is a custom and ritual which is

offered to mahal na poong Sta. Cruz with a prayer, dance, and a song. The name Subli is a combination of the
words "Subsob," which means to fall with one's head down, and "bali," which means broken. In provinces like

Batangas and Luzon, the traditional dance of the Philippines known as subli is very popular. This dance is

believed to be performed to honor the "Holy Cross of Alitagtag" typically in May. Additionally, this dance

sometimes involves a chant to the "Holy Cross".

The Third room is all about the various forms of art which is Music, Dance, Architecture, Theater,

Media Art, Literature, and Visual Arts. It is full of arts from different artist. The forth room is all about the. The

fifth room is about the. The last but not the least are the room of governors that once governed the provinces of

batangas city.

I have learned that the province of Batangas has a rich history and culture. It is the pride and glory that

is a must to see. The historical paintings and artworks are inside the building that everyone must know and

understand the message of every artwork and especially youth of Batangas must appreciate that kind of

artworks as it what makes them Batanguenos. I am glad that I visited the museum and will treasure it.
