• Ensuring safety in machinery, equipment, plant, articles, substances and
work processes at the workplace
• Developing and putting into practice control measures to deal with

• Providing workers with adequate instruction, information , training and
supervision

Age limit
• Those below 16 years old are not permitted to perform any work in GLOBALFOUNDRIES.
Illegal Employment
• Ensure valid employment pass and duly approved work permit are available for
inspection for each foreign contractors working in GLOBALFOUNDRIES.
• Long Pants, Cover safety shoes and appropriate attire are required
Note: Take note of clean room gowning procedures, appropriate clothing when
performing task at site.

Minor Chemical Spills and Leaks of < 1m2
1. Stop work immediately and attend to the spills and leaks using
texwipes or other absorbent materials found in our Spill Cabinet.
2. Evacuate surrounding personnel
3. Always treat all puddle of liquid as acidic
4. Cordon off the area until ERT arrives
5. Dispose the contaminated materials in the designated waste bins
provided and inform the Global Foundries project coordinator in ALL
CASES.

Chemical Spills and Leaks During Transportation within our premises
1. Immediately stop vehicle engine and evacuate the people nearby. Put on PPE and
mitigate the spill by using spill barrier or available absorbents to prevent it entering any
storm drains without any personal risk.

Gas Leakage During Transportation within our premises
1. Immediately remove the leaking cylinder to an open area and far away from populated
area if possible. Evacuate the people nearby if there are any.
2. Inform Security Post.
3. Help to direct traffic and alert the on coming traffic of the incident until arrival of the
security.

Permit-to-Work System
All contractors are required to apply Permit-To-Work
(PTW) before commencement of work to ensure
visibility, compliance, control, and communication over
the job
– NO PERMIT = NO WORK
• Permits must be posted at work site and permit instructions followed explicitly
– Permit must be signed by CSV EHSS representative; and approved in the ePTW
system by GLOBALFOUNDRIES project coordinator, project supervisor, EHS
engineer, and other relevant stakeholders.
– NO photocopied PTW is allowed.
– Risk Assessment must be submitted together with the PTW for approval.

Hot Work Permit
• Hot work includes grinding, torch cutting, gas soldering, welding,
brazing and any equipment that produces a flame or spark.
• PVC welding is not classified as Hot Work unless works are carried out
at the following areas:
– Waste Solvent Intermediate Tank and Recovering Area
– Chemical Supply and Gas Supply Rooms
– LPG Storage Area
– Material Rooms
For any work that will affect the fire protection system,
raise a Fire Impairment Form

Fire Impairment Permit
• For areas that are protected by sprinklers, smoke detectors (HSSD),
heat detectors (For the area isolated, you may refer to FMS Personnel)
• Form has to be submitted 3 days before work
• Ensure a Fire Watchman to be allocated whose duties are to:
• Stationed at the hot work site to stand by and observe for any fire
hazards throughout the hot work operation.
• Check and ensure that all combustible materials in the way of the
affected areas in the adjacent compartments have been removed
• Upon completion of the work, Contractors are to inform FMS Personnel
to recover the status of the Fire Protection Devices.

used.
• For any chemicals that are to be placed in the premises for more than 24
hours, apply for Chemical Approval Form from EHS Department.

Protection Plan
Prevent contamination of stormwater runoff, illegal discharges, spills or leaks from
entering stormwater drain.
• Do not discharge any solid waste or liquid to open drain (indoor or outdoor).
• Waste that is generated by contractors, vendors and suppliers shall be properly
packed, marked, labeled, handled and stored during the job and turned over to
GLOBALFOUNDRIES upon completion of the job. The Contractor’s employees
involved in the handling of the hazardous waste shall be trained.
• Maintain a clean work environment and keep the work site free from any stormwater
pollutants. Upon completion of work, contractors shall remove all implements, surplus
materials and debris, leaving the construction area in "broom clean" condition.
• Call 33000 or alert security if you see any:
– external spills/leaks;
– illegal discharge;
– flooding & clogging of drains;
– leakage of external storage items; or
– means that may disrupt and affect the stormwater drains

• Photograph or video taking is prohibited in GLOBALFOUNDRIES unless special
clearance is granted

for not sealing the USB or Network port with endorsement from Contractor and their GF
Sponsor.
PORTABLE HANDHELD METAL DETECTOR
✓ Security officer will conduct random check on vendors entering the building
as to ENSURE NO UNAUTHORIZED USB DEVICES being brought into the
building using the portable hand held metal detector.
An iCASE will be issued to the sponsor and manager for follow-up action.
The USB device will be send to IT Security for Screening.
3RD PARTY LAPTOP MANAGEMENT
Contractors and Vendors are required to register their laptop with security and board
into the CREG System to perform the following process:
CHECK-IN their laptop while bringing into any GLOBALFOUNDRIES FABs BUILDING in SGP site.

tamper proof security sticker.

is 100% and you are able to re-take the assessment as many times as required to
pass;
2. Once you pass the CSV EHSS assessment:
a. Print the results page showing your score (e.g. 25/25);
b. Print, fill, and obtain the necessary signatures for the CSV EHSS Training & Assessment
Declaration Form found here;
c. Print, fill, and obtain the necessary signatures according to your CSV status:
i. For existing GF SG CSV personnel:
FY-0004-4 Contractor Boarding & EHSS Training Attendance Form (4 pages)
ii. For aspiring GF SG CSV personnel:
FY-0004-3 Contractor Security Boarding and Pass Application (7 pages).
3. Submit the required documents (3a, b, c) to Fab 7G Security counter in person from
Mon-Fri, 2pm-4pm. Submissions outside this window will not be received.
4. GF Security will then process the application within the following time frame:
a. For existing GF SG CSV personnel: within 24 hours; and
b. For aspiring GF SG CSV personnel: within 3 working days.
