Introduction

Going through this course and now developing a Human Capital Capacity plan will be a great help. I now
have a better-defined plan for my career goals, and more effectively communicate my wants. I think the most
important part of this course for me was the reminder when it came to any challenges, in my personal or
professional life, no matter if they were positive or negative, I had to look at my involvement, and how I
planned to solve it the course discussions, reflection assignments, and self-assessments allowed for a deep dive
into trying to get know yourself. I have learned how to prioritize and set goals to ensure my future success. In
this writing I will explore my current state, desired state, and the execution needed to reach my desired state.

Desired State
My desired state is an increase in salary, which is high on my list of priorities. The reason behind this want
is what the additional income can do for me and my family. I will be able to contribute more to our financial
planning for our future. This will also feed into us having more options for family vacations, extra circular
activities, and giving back in the form of donations. If our finances are in order our mental health is also in a
better condition and decreases the likelihood of being stressed. If we in a position to master our money and use
it as a tool to continue cover our basic needs and additional amenities, we can function as better parts of society.
Earlier I mentioned mental health and stress levels, if a person well balanced, they can be a better family
member, employee, coach, teacher, or just human being. I can defiantly say I notice when my wife and I have
our finances in order it helps.
In addition, blogging is something else I am interested in. I want to write my own blog about my everyday
life; working and just the everyday monotony of being a wife/mom/daughter/sister/something to everyone. I
believe my everyday struggles are relatable and I would like to bring humor and laughter into it.
The top three priority interests I have in my professional life are team building exercises, rapid
improvement events, and cross training. Team building has always been important to me. I am a
strong believer that you need to get to know your team to understand how each induvial works and
what their needs are. Exercises that allow teams to get to know each other or just have fun together
helps a team grow and be able to collaborate as a team. Another interest in rapid improvement
events (RIE's). RIE's are scheduled events that are focused around a certain area or process.
Department leadership, front line staff, and members of other teams with outside eyes all come
together to walkthrough the current process and propose a future state.

Current State/Values

Accountability - Accountability is one of the most important values to me. Everyone needs to
take ownership for their work and accountability for their actions and outcomes. Qualities of
accountability are consistence, proactiveness, responsiveness, and reliability. It can be
demonstrated by doing the right thing, even when it is difficult, by not making assumptions and
finding the root causes, and by managing commitments and responsibilities.
Teamwork - Another important value is teamwork. Teams must work together as one to achieve
a common goal. Qualities of teamwork are empathetic, engaging, supporting, and positivity. It can
be demonstrated by reaming loyal to all team members and being honest in all interactions,
welcoming members and understanding their needs, and being proactive and willing to work hard.
Integrity - Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. Qualities of integrity
are honesty, authenticity, trusting, and loyal. It can be demonstrated by consistently acting in the
best interest of others, always supporting policies and procedures, and working to solve problems
and offer solutions.

Passions
Dishonesty - I am extremely passionate about lying. I do not get upset easily and I always give
people the benefit of the doubt. But if someone intentionally lies to me, I begin to completely shut
down. I believe there is absolutely no reason someone should be anything but truthful. If a person
wants to lie to me, it will ruin our relationship, whether it be personal or professional. I refuse to
attempt to maintain a relationship with someone who doesn't even think I deserve the truth.
Disrespectfulness - Being disrespected or witnessing someone be disrespected upsets me very
much. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and understanding. We never truly know what
is going on with a person and to completely ignore that and make assumptions is hurtful and
alarming. Everyone has their own agenda and priorities. We need to respect that about one another
rather than shaming them for not aligning with our paths.
Deceitful - There are many historical examples of how being deceitful can impact us. The story
of Emmett till's murder is a major example of someone lying and having affects for generations.
Carolyn Bryant Donham said that the 14-year-oldEmmett grabbed her and was being sexually
crude towards her. He was lynched and the people that committed the murder were acquitted.
Linking this back to my earlier topic "Unfairness "Carolyn is still alive and never faced any ail
time.

Fears

Uncertainty - The concern of not knowing what is to come has always a been a fear that is
common when I have conversation with others. It comes in so many different forms, the current
global pandemic is a major one. It has so many layers and questions, causing people to fear one
another, or just having a conversation. I still have my fears on uncertainty, but I also have learned
to do what I can to mitigate it and allow room for things to work themselves out.
This is one that I have learned to talk myself down from the ledge. When a family member or
close friend is either traveling, I would assume the worst. If I am expecting to hear from them and
there is no communication, the wheels start to turn. I usually catch myself with appositive spin or
logical thought, but if I do not do that, I'll a full horror movie script developed in my mind. I think a
lot of these fears come from sort of unresolved trauma. I have never investigated this topic. It
seems like it can work in my favor, which can cause me to get somethings done early or not
participate in a beneficial opportunity because I do not believe I will have enough time for it or
other things. As I am working on this assignment this concern has should up periodically, it was
ongoing throughout the whole semester.
This is one I know will take me a while to adjust to.

Strenght
Self-Motivation - Although I count this as a strength, I find myself being influenced by other to
pursue goals. Acting and making to do list to complete task comes natural to me. Being in this
course has taking it a step further and has required me to dig even deeper.
Dependable - This quality comes with a high chance people will request your service often. I
have always been cautious on the things I agree to do, because I usually make a mental rore wil carr
i urt the task has heen completed.
Patience - It has served me well when interacting with people, especially if there is some sort of
barrier, like language, and confusion. I believe knowing that there is some point whatever the
challenge is will end allows to see it through with a calm demeanor. I have been told on multiple
occasions about my patience their appreciation for it.
Needs Improvement
Decisive - There are times when some important decisions require a quick action, but I am
feeling the need for more analysis. This can cause me to not have a well settled decision. I have
learned to trust my intuition a little more especially with situations that I have experience in.
Time Management - I get lost in the work sometimes and find it challenging to come to good
stopping point to move to another task. I typically like to work all the way through an assignment. I
have improved over the years, but I still room to grow
Be Able to Say No - Telling my friends and family "no" is very difficult for me. I often do not
want to let them down, so I agree to do things that I do not have the time to do. I feel as if by me
telling them no they will either think I am upset with them or they will think I am mean, neither of
which would be true. I need to be better at saying no and explaining why I cannot help.

Skills
Critical Thinking - In my current role as a Budget Analyst is requires a lot of analysis, interpreting
information, and problem solving. We have some consistency in our job, there other topics that
require some shifting in our work, sometimes it can be a policy, or legal agreement that affects our
financial decision.
Money Management - Saving money has always come naturally to me. As mentioned, many times
thus far, I am always worried about not having enough money. This fear has made my money
management skill impeccable. My family always has money when we need it since I am so frugal
with my spending. When I met my husband, he was convinced he didn't make enough money to
pay his bills, although he did in fact make
enough money. He was just so disorganized and spent money on things he either didn't need or
could have gotten cheaper. I helped him get organized and pay more attention to his spending. He
is now much more like me and tracks his money closely.

SWOT analysis
Strength - My top strength is that I am self-sufficient. I often need little, to no, help. Another
strength of mine is that I am extremely organized. I always keep my environment cleaned up.
My last top strength is that I am dependable. Everyone knows that I will always be there if they
need me.
Weakness - One of my biggest weaknesses is the ability to tell a person no. I take on more than I
can handle in hopes of not letting anyone down. Another weakness is lack of motivation. I find
myself too tired to follow through on projects. Finally, work life balance is a struggle for me. I
spend too much time at work, or evening thinking about work while at home
Opportunities - There are opportunities for me to improve on my weaknesses. Regarding telling
people no, I can explain myself and admit that I am at capacity. I can also offer ideas for ways for
them to get help elsewhere. ror my lack of motivation, I can prioritize my workload at home and
focus on one project at a time. I need to dedicate specific times to working on these projects.
Finally, I can learn how to handle stress from work better and not let it affect my personal life. I
need to remind myself often of what is most important to me, and that is not work.
Throat - There are a few barriers that can stop me from meeting my goals. The first is the number
of hours in a day. My job is very demanding and there are times I at home with family that I am
needed in emergency situations. The second barrier is my kid’s schedules. I want to spend as much
time with her as possible, but between all her extracurricular activities and kindergarten functions
there isn't much time in the evenings or weekends. Lastly is my lack of (or perceived lack of)
money. I want to take my children on trips and outings, but so many of them are highly priced.

Self assesment
From the self the assessment and reflection assignments I have been able to make comparisons
between my personal and professional life. I have made similar sentiments in previous discussions
throughout the course. Comparing my employer's values to my personal values has shown some
strong similarities, from the dedication of public services, health, and career progression. These are
all areas that align with my personal values. My involvement in work that has a bearing on the
citizens resources and environment is a blessing and an honor to be a part of. I stated earlier in this
document the importance of health and not just physical. The organization has also committed
funds to create a programs employee can use to improve their health. Prior to the assessments I
never really took the time to draw comparisons to my values. I guess in some ways, I lacked the
appreciation for it until this course.

GAP analysis

When it comes to my personal and career growth be observant must be one of my most helpful
skills. It has allowed to learn from people on how to treat them and helped my on making decisions
on what to say or not say. Communication is also a very important skill, at times it is about
listening and not just constantly talking, I have learned a lot by just listening. Being open to
collaborating has put in position build on information from another perspective, which may not
have ever gain without allowing input from other people. My family and colleagues have been able
to rely on me for support has also been a tremendous asset to have, it has also made me proud to be
a go to person for them.

Execution
New Relationship - I will need to forget new relationships and strengthen some current ones to help
me achieve these goals. In my personal life will make more time for family and friends, just
stopping by to see them or just making a phone call. Forming tighter bonds with people I genuinely
care about is very important. I have some managers and other people I need to follow up with, that
point in the right direction when it comes to career.
New Behaviors - Setting out to accomplish task by automating my live calendar and do list will
help keep me on task. I can move my smart goals into this system with reminders to assess it I am
on track. I can see the benefit in doing this and improving my time management challenges.

Continuous Learning - There are some training opportunities I can sign up; I can complete this
during workhours. Being a perpetual student of life is very important to me, I am always learning
something new. The resources are endless especially with the internet, my whole MBA program is
online. Knowing what I do not know is part what keeps me want to learn more.

Change Management - I am constantly dealing with changes within our processes. It was a little
surprising to see a government agency that would allow for that. Going through our process and
constantly looking for ways to improve it makes us better. In my personal life we are constantly
adjusting and trying to make improvements to our routines with the children. From the quality of
food, when to prepare it, when should bath time happen, and balancing reading and television time.

Conclusion

This course has given me a lot to think about. It has been eye opening from drawing the lines
between the person life and professional. Through this course, I have realized the significance of
constantly reviewing and adjusting my plan for personal and professional growth. Recognizing the
interplay between these two aspects of life, and understanding that they are intertwined. I have
come to appreciate that aligning personal values, goals, and priorities with my professional
endeavors will ultimately lead to a more fulfilling and successful journey.
