HOT WORK PERMIT (ANY WORK CAPABLE OF CAUSING A FIRE)

So-called “Hot” Work is work involving an ignition source near flammable or combustible
materials. This kind of work often emits heat and sparks or flames capable of causing a fire.

The shopping centre policy’s objectives are to avoid all hot work associated risk. This way,
if it is possible to make the required works without having to use equipment producing
flames or sparks, this method would always be strongly recommended as an alternative to
hot work. Before proceeding with hot work, the contractor needs to obtain a hot work
permit from the Security & Life Safety Manager, at least 48 hours before the works (see
form in appendix).

To authorize works, the following conditions must be met:

• Hot work permit was emitted by the Security Department;
• The permit must be clearly displayed on site at all times until completion of the work.
The permit must then be returned to the Security Department. All required
signatures must be present on hot work permit;
• Every other condition which can be indicated during the preliminary inspection
before emitting the permit.
• The contractor undertakes to perform a minimum of two hours of continuous
monitoring after finishing hot work.
• A security guard of the mall assures that there is continuous surveillance during the
contractor’s hot works. Security will monitor one hour beyond the contractor’s two
hours of continuous monitoring;
• The work must be done outside the centre’s operating hours or in low traffic periods
with the authorization of the Operations Manager;
• The Fire detection as well as the sprinkler grid in the affected zone must be fully
operational;

Please note that the permit will not be issued if sprinkler protection is not operational.

*THE PERMIT IS VALID ONLY FOR THE DESCRIBED PERIOD. ANY EXTRA HOURS WILL
BE SUBJECT TO A NEW HOT WORK PERMIT.

AD03 - CF Champlain - Construction Rules and Regulations - March 2023 12

PARKING POLICY

In order to maximize our dealer’s productivity, we ask anyone working at CF Champlain

shopping mall, including workers from tenants and those working on different construction
sites not to use the parking spaces located near the mall entrances. It is in the interest of
everyone to give priority to customers.

Each store manager has the responsibility to ensure that the employees of the store
park at edge of parking lot, at any time during the opening hours of the shopping
centre. It is the construction site manager’s responsibility to enforce this policy with
their teams of workers and subcontractors.

No exceptions will be tolerated and offending vehicles will be towed at the owner’s
expense without further notice. Landlord is not responsible for any damage and/or theft to
vehicles using the shopping centre parking lot.
