Course Description
This course explores how people think, feel, and behave in organizations. The approach
is at the individual, group, and organization level. The interaction of the different elements
such as motivation, communication, leadership style, job satisfaction, job performance, and
organizational effectiveness will be explored and determine how they affect human behavior.
1. To identify the theories and concepts, as well as the links between individual,
group, and organizational behavior in the workplace setting
2. To demonstrate critical thinking in the analysis of case studies on work issues
and apply theories to organizational contexts
3. To articulate appreciation of organizational behavior theories and concepts and
how these are applicable to one’s life and field of study

Teams in Organizations
To make our weekly classes in I/O Psychology enticing and more enjoyable, the class had
agreed to a 15 minute break utilized at around 7:30 PM. During this weekly break, the class is
encouraged to visit the restroom, stretch, and work on other personal matters.
The class has agreed to have a Class Picnic. There will be a designated group who will be in
charge of the classes’ snacks for the day.
Below are the assigned groupings. These groups will also be utilized throughout the whole
semester.

1. Each group must secure a treat or finger food for the whole class to consume within
the 15 minute period.
2. Pungent food and rice meals will not be allowed.
3. There is no set minimum or maximum amount for the price of the food. However,
groups are encouraged to be resourceful and spend amounts that are reasonable.
4. The class is encouraged to consume all of the food prepared by the assigned group of
the day. Food waste is highly frowned upon.
5. Groups who are able to provide the agreed class picnic will be secured of their oral
recitation points for the day.

Grading System
A Midterm Grade and Final Grade will be computed. Below will be the grading system utilized
to compute these grades.
