Game Overview

This was games was inspired with the American Baseball Game but with a
twist of a Filipino game called “Shatong”. Shatong is a traditional Filipino game that
makes use of two sticks, one longer than the other. The longer stick will serve as the
bat and the shorter stick serves like the hit. Two teams are required to play this
game, the hitter and the fetcher.
On this game, instead of using a bath and a ball they will be using 2 sticks
(long and short stick). This game will still have base plate, Hitter, catcher and similar
rules apply with the baseball game but this will not have a pitcher.

Nature of the Game

To play this game, you need six (6) players each team. Both teams should go
to toss coin (head or tail) for the game to start. The team that will win on the toss
coin will be given an opportunity to decide if they want the Stick (to be the offensive
side) or Catcher (to be the defensive side). Offensive team composed by hitters and
defensive side composed of catcher.
The offensive team will try to make the smaller stick go far as they can be by
hitting the smaller stick using the bigger stick. The stick came from the ground, no
pitcher needed.
The defensive team will try to catch the stick to take out the hitter but if they
failed to catch it, they need to pick the stick and relay it until the stick arrived on the
basemen to tag the runner and to take him/her out and the umpire will be the one to
decide if the play is safe or out.
If the number of out from the offensive team reaches to three (3), team will
change and this means that the offensive team will be the defensive and the
defensive team will be the offensive one.

Scoring Guidelines

The offensive team need to rung and step all the bases until they reached the
home plate to consider it a SCORE, one player is equal to one point.
The winner will be determined when one of the teams out-scored the
opponent team until the 7th inning.

Game Rules

For Hitters:
 One hitting per player, failed to hitting the stick twice or two (2) time will
be considered out.
 Never objects the umpires’ calls.
 If the stick when to outside the foul line or pole considered as first fail of
hitting the stick properly.

For Catchers:
 If the catcher catches the stick but the stick touches the ground at the
same time, it is considered as a hot and not a catch.
 If the catcher catches the stick even it reached the foul line, it is
considered as catch as long as it didn’t touch the ground.
 If the basemen failed to tag the runner and the runner touched the base
and have his/her hand remains on the base id considered sage. But if
the basement catches the stick and his foot/feet is on the base, it is
considered as out as long as the basemen catches the stick early that
the runner touched the base.
